Introduction
Soap is a cleaning and washing substance. It is originally made of the three
basic materials, water, Sodium Hydroxide /Potassium Hydroxide (lye) and oils.
The preparation of soap is a chemical reaction called “Saponification” when lye
water and oil are boiled together and get the soap as the final product. Different
lye types produce the different soap substance. Sodium Hydroxide produce solid
soap, but potassium Hydroxide produces liquid soap.
Homemade soap making is very easy, fun and always challenging. The
method is simple and the materials are easy to find. By the way, from just the
original soap making method you can make thousand different homemade soap
recipes as many as you can create it.
The easiest ways to make soap is melt and pour process. This process
requires only a few materials and some simple steps and suitable for the
beginner soap makers even kids can do, as long as supervised by a responsible
adult.
The melt and pour process using pre-made glycerin soap base, melt the
soap base into a liquid, after that, add extra ingredients like essential oils, herbs
colors and nutrients. Then Pour the soap into the mold with the desired shape
and let it harden. Then you get a basic glycerin soap which is transparent, can be
decorative and add any ingredient, fragrances and colorants. Benefits of melt and
pour soap include not having to handle lye, the wide variety of color and
fragrance options available, kid friendly process, and no curing time, the result is
a bar that is able to be used right away.
Melt and pour soap also be found under the name glycerin soap because it
is particularly high percentage of glycerin. Glycerin is a natural by-product of
the saponification process.

Fresh Aloe Vera and Nettle Leaf Soap

Nettle can be used to reducing secretions, relieving irritation, and


improving tissue firmness. It may also be used topically for dandruff and overly
oily hair and scalp. Aloe is also an excellent treatment for skin conditions to
rejuvenate aged tissues and promote healthy skin. The dried nettle leaves powder
in the soap also acts like a natural exfoliating agent.
Ingredients
4 oz. glycerin soap base
1/8 cup aloe vera gel
2 tbsp. dried nettle leaf powder

Instructions
1. Cut Glycerin soap base into small pieces and place in the Pyrex
container.
2. Place the soap base in the Pyrex container on the stove and melt it on the
medium heat. You can also melt it in the microwave about 30 minutes or until
the soap dissolved.
3. Once the soap melted, add aloe vera gel and dried nettle leaf. Stir well.
4. Pour the soap into the mold and decorate before let it dry. If bubbles
form on the top, spritz with rubbing alcohol.
5. Let the soap harden completely, about 2-3 hours.
6. After the soap harden. Take it out of the mold, cut into bars and wrap up.
Mint soap
Mint is especially good for skin that needs extra, especially if you have
some acne, using this simple ingredient can help you get rid of it. Mint leaves
work quite well on most types of acne. It also helps remove acne naturally
without any side effects. And also refreshing smell.
Ingredients
1 lb. melt and pour soap base
1 tbsp. fresh mint leaves, finely chopped
1/2 tsp. Peppermint essential oil
1/2 tsp. Spearmint essential oil
Instructions
1. Cut Glycerin soap base into small pieces and place in the Pyrex
container.
2. Melt the soap until well dissolved.
3. Once the soap melted, add fresh chopped mint leaves and essential oils.
Stir well.
4. Pour the soap into the mold. Spray with rubbing alcohol.
5. Let the soap harden completely, about 2-3 hours.
6. After the soap harden. Take it out of the mold, cut into bars and wrap up.
Spicy Rosemary Soap


Everybody loves the nice smell of rosemary. Adding some ground dried
rosemary makes this soap more amazing and naturally exfoliating your skin.

Ingredients
4 oz. clear glycerin soap base
1/4 cup ground dried rosemary leaves
10 drops rosemary essential oil
Instructions
1. Melt the glycerin soap base on the stove over medium heat.
2. Add rosemary essential oil and ground dried rosemary leaves. Stir
thoroughly.
3. Pour the mixture into the mold. Leave the soap to set for 3 -4 hours until
completely hard.
4. After the soap completely hard, cut into bars and wrap them up.
Exotic Strawberry Soap


The Sweet smell from the real strawberry and the poppy seeds embed in the
soap flesh, make the soap irresistible. You will want to use it everyday.
Ingredients 5 oz. glycerin soap base
1/4 tsp poppy seeds
1/4 cup strawberry juice
1 ml. strawberry fragrance oil

Instructions
1. Melt the soap base.
2. Add poppy seeds, strawberry fragrance oil and strawberry juice. Stir until
well mixed.
3. Pour the soap into the mold and let harden.
4. Unmold and cut into bars.
Ground Cinnamon Chocolate Marble Soap


Ingredient
1 lb. glycerin melt and pour soap base
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tbsp. Cocoa butter
1 ml. Chocolate fragrance oil
Cocoa powder for colorant

Instructions
1. Melt the soap. Remove from heat and slowly stir in the cocoa butter and
you can add cocoa powder to make it a pale brown or tan.
2. Add chocolate fragrance oil and ground cinnamon.
3. Pour a half of the whole amount of the lighter shade of brown soap into
the mold.
4. Add more cocoa powder to the reserved batch of the melted soap base to
make a darker brown.
5. Pour the darker brown soap into the pale brown soap and make the
marble soap by using the blend stick or the metal whisk, whisk the soap in any
different directions to form the marble strips.
6. Let sit dry and hard for 4 hours.

Raspberry Oatmeal Soap


Ingredients
4 oz. melt and pour glycerin soap base
1/3 cup ground dried oats
1/4 cup raspberry juice
15 drops raspberry fragrance oil

Instructions
1. Melt the MP glycerin soap base.
2. Remove from heat and add the raspberry fragrance oil, raspberry juice
and ground oats, stirring until well mixed.
3. Pour into a soap mold and let set for 3 hours or until hardened.


Lemon Peel Lime Soap
Ingredients
4 oz. clear glycerin soap base
1 tbsp grated lemon peel
1 tbsp olive oil
1 ml. lime essential oil

Instructions
1. Melt the soap base. Add the olive oil and stir well then remove from
the heat.
2. Add the Lime essential oil and grated lemon peel.
3. Pour in the mold and let sit until harden about 3 hours.
Double Berry Smoothie Soap

Ingredients
1 lb melt and pour glycerin soap base
2 tbsp blueberry juice
2 tbsp raspberry juice
3 tbsp goat milk powder
1 tsp coconut oil
1 tsp shea butter

Instructions
1. Melt soap base in double boiler over low heat. Blend in coconut oil and shea
butter. Remove from the heat.
2. When slightly cooled, mix a small amount of warm soap with milk powder
and fruit juices.
3. Blend this back into the rest of the warm soap.
4. Pour into molds and let harden.
Vanilla Honey Oatmeal

Ingredients
2 lbs clear melt and pour soap
1/8 cup honey
3/4 cup ground oatmeal
1 tsp vitamin E oil
1 tablespoon vanilla oil

Instructions
1. Cut the MP soap into small pieces and heat in a double boiler until melted.
Remove from the heat.
2. Add honey and vitamin E oil. Let the soap base cool approximately 5-10
minutes or until it starts to form a skin on top, stir the skin back into the base.
3. When the base starts to thicken, add vanilla oil and oatmeal.
4. Pour into molds.
5. Let sit and harden for several hours and unmold.
6. Slice into bars and let hard for 24 hours and wrap with plastic wrap.
Cucumber Aloe Vera Soap


Ingredients
3 oz. clear glycerin soap base 1/4 cup grated fresh cucumber
10 drops cucumber fragrance oil
1 tbsp fresh aloe vera gel

Instructions
1. Shred the soap into small pieces and melt.
2. Add cucumber fragrance oil, grated cucumber and aloe Vera gel. Stir until the
grated cucumber and aloe vera gel distributed thoroughly.
3. Pour the mixture into the mold and let sit until harden around 3 hours.
4. Cut into bars and wrap up.
Bonus glycerin soap recipes

Orange Cappuccino Soap

Ingredients
1 lb melt and pour soap base
3 Tbsp cocoa butter
1 Tbsp coconut oil
1/4 cup finely ground coffee
Cocoa powder to color the soap
1 Tbsp orange essential oil
1 1/2 cappuccino fragrance oil or coffee fragrance oil
Instructions
1. Make the orange cappuccino fragrance oil by mixing the orange essential oil
and the coffee fragrance oil together and store in dark glass bottle until ready to
use.
2. Melt soap and cocoa butter together, stirring gently until melted.
3. When completely melted, remove from heat.
4. Stir in coconut oil and coffee grounds. Add orange cappuccino fragrance oil.
5. Pour into molds and let dry until hard.
Green Tea Rose Beauty Soap
Ingredients
4 oz melt and pour soap base
10 drops rose essential oil
5 drops tea tree oil
1/2 tsp. jojoba oil
1/4 cup ground dried rose buds
Instructions
1. Melt the soap base.
2. Add rose essential oil and tea tree oil.
3. Gently blend the mixture slowly to not cause any bubbles to form. Add jojoba
oil and ground dried roses, mix well.
4. Pour into mold, let sit for 4 hours or until hard.
5. Unmold and slice into bars and wrap.
