Eunice reflects on her learning experience in her BSN 2 clinical rotation. She learned how to properly use PPE, care for newborns and mothers including bedmaking, patient positioning, Leopold's Maneuver, and perineal flushing. Though the experience was virtual, she was able to complete all return demonstrations with the help of her clinical instructors. Her main difficulty was occasional issues with internet connectivity impacting her ability to fully participate. Going forward, she plans to focus on improving her skills in newborn and maternal care as there is much terminology to remember regarding abnormalities. To enhance online clinical learning, she suggests recording all class discussions for students to access later if they miss lessons due to connectivity problems.

Name: EUNICE IDA MARIE A NIEGAS
Year level: BSN 2
Name of SKL (NCM 107) or RLE Rotation (e.q. Operating Room) Reflective Journal 1. What did you learn (include your thoughts and feelings). I learned a lot in this subject from PPE and Bedmaking up to caring for the newborn and the mother. I've learned a lot especially from PPE's and how to use them and also what should we used in the wards that we assign and also in bedmaking what should be prioritized and also in the patient positions if it paralyzed or where they are comfortable, and then on palpating the baby in the mother's womb which is the Leopold's Maneuver, how to do it by step to the mother without hurting the mother. And also how to clean the vaginal of the mother which is perineal flushing. Moreover, what we should inject into the baby at birth and what should be put in the baby's eyes, and also where it should be injected. I'm so happy that I did it all even though it's virtual at least I did my best to make it and pass all the return demos. I'm so grateful also to my CI's because they're doing their best to easily understand their lessons even though it's difficult because of this learning system sometimes there's a connection problem. 2. What difficulties have you encountered? The difficulties that I encountered are sometimes in doing return demos and also in caring of the newborn and the mother but I can manage to do the return demo properly. Sometimes because of the internet connection so that I do not catch up with the lessons. 3. What will be your personal focus to improve? Maybe I will focus on caring for the newborn and the mother because sometimes it's difficult to understand it. There are so many words to remember and memorize the abnormalities of the mother and baby and also in situational questions and problems. 4. What is your feedback to improve online RLE/ SKL in this area? I hope every class discussion, the teacher should record it and upload it in LMS for the students who didn't catch up on the lesson for that day because of an internet connection. For me, it's easy to understand the ppt you make rather than the modules in LMS, thankyou.
