 Aim:- To study the introduction ofdifferent Eletrical drawing and simulation

software.

 Objective:-

1) Learning to use the help systems to study basic commands and Syntax.
2) writting your own fuction and m-files in different Software.
3) Learning some advanced programmings techniques.
 Theory :-

1. MATLAB :-
MATLAB is a high-performance language for technical computing. It
integrates computation, visualization, and programming in an easy-to-use
environment where problems and solutions are expressed in familiar
mathematical notation. Typical uses include:

 Math and computation

 Algorithm development
 Modeling, simulation, and prototyping
 Data analysis, exploration, and visualization
 Scientific and engineering graphics
 Application development, including Graphical User Interface building

MATLAB is an interactive system whose basic data element is an array

that does not require dimensioning. This allows you to solve many technical
computing problems, especially those with matrix and vector formulations, in a
fraction of the time it would take to write a program in a scalar noninteractive
language such as C or Fortran.
The name MATLAB stands for matrix laboratory. MATLAB was
originally written to provide easy access to matrix software developed by the
LINPACK and EISPACK projects, which together represent the state-of-the-art
in software for matrix computation.
MATLAB has evolved over a period of years with input from many
users. In university environments, it is the standard instructional tool for
introductory and advanced courses in mathematics, engineering, and science. In
industry, MATLAB is the tool of choice for high-productivity research,
development, and analysis.
Start matlab in Windows platform:-
- Select Matlab icon
-Call Matlab from Windows systems command line
-Call Matlab from Matlab Command prompts
-Open file associated with Matlab
-select Matlab executable windows explorer tool
When you start Matlab,it automatically adds the user path folder to the
search path.matlab also reopens any desktop components that were open when you
last shut down.
To costomize start-up,see specify start-up options
The Matlab start-up folder is the folder you are in when you get the matlab
prompt. To change the default start-up folders see Matlab start-up folder.
If you have trouble starting Matlab then see Matlab installation, Activations
and start-up Help.

2. AUTOCAD :-
AutoCAD was derived from a program that began in 1977, and then released
in 1979 called Interact CAD, also referred to in early Autodesk documents as
MicroCAD, which was written prior to Autodesk's (then Marinchip Software
Partners) formation by Autodesk cofounder Michael Riddle.
The first version by Autodesk was demonstrated at the 1982 Comdex and
released that December. AutoCAD supported CP/M-80 computers. As Autodesk's
flagship product, by March 1986 AutoCAD had become the most ubiquitous CAD
program worldwide. The 2020 release marked the 34th major release of AutoCAD
for Windows. The 2019 release marked the ninth consecutive year of AutoCAD
for Mac. The native file format of AutoCAD is .dwg. This and, to a lesser extent,
its interchange file format DXF, have become de facto, if proprietary, standards for
CAD data interoperability, particularly for 2D drawing exchange. AutoCAD has
included support for .dwf, a format developed and promoted by Autodesk, for
publishing CAD data.

3. Microsoft Visio:-
Microsoft Visio is software for drawing a variety of diagrams. These
include flowcharts, org charts, building plans, floor plans, data flow diagrams,
process flow diagrams, business process modeling, swim lane diagrams, 3D
maps, and many more. It’s a Microsoft product, sold as an addition to MS
Office. Visio 2016, the latest version, comes in three editions: Visio Standard,
Visio Professional, and Visio Pro for Office 365.
Visio can be used in a variety of settings to create professional-looking
diagrams. Given Visio’s cost, a hand-drawn diagram may suit your purposes,
or you might turn to the basic diagram functions in MS Word. Or you could
use software that is free or less expensive but still powerful, such as
lucidchart.com, which also works on Macs.
If appropriate for your needs, Visio can indeed produce slick, useful
diagrams of all types, and these can provide the professional look you want
for presentations, reports, audits, building plans, floor plans, documentation,
and modeling better ways to do things. Visio includes a big library of
shapes/symbols used in dozens of diagram types. These symbols represent
specialized pieces of diagrams such as process flow diagrams, business
process modeling, data flow diagrams, and many more. These are used widely
in various fields for various purposes.
Procedure:-
1.Determine what you’re trying to accomplish and gather the appropriate detail for
your diagram or chart. Also determine which chart type best illustrates the
information for your needs.
2.Determine what you’re trying to accomplish and gather the appropriate detail for
your diagram or chart. Also determine which chart type best illustrates the
information for your needs.
3.Drag and connect shapes/symbols to illustrate the items and their flow. Different
shapes represent different things in the various types of diagrams, and they range
from simple rectangles, ovals and arrows to hundreds of highly specialized shapes
and symbols. You also can import your own shapes if necessary.
4.Add labels and text to the shapes.
5.Review your diagram to make sure you’re not missing anything or duplicating
anything. If you’re collaborating with others, check each other’s work.

4. EAGLE:-
EAGLE is electronic design automation (EDA) software that lets printed
circuit board (PCB) designers seamlessly connect schematic diagrams, component
placement, PCB routing and comprehensive library content.
EAGLE contains a schematic editor, for designing circuit diagrams.
Schematics are stored in files with .SCH extension, parts are defined in device
libraries with .LBR extension. Parts can be placed on many sheets and connected
together through ports.
The PCB layout editor stores board files with the extension .BRD. It
allows back-annotation to the schematic and auto-routing to automatically connect
traces based on the connections defined in the schematic.
EAGLE saves Gerber and PostScript layout files as well
as Excellon and Sieb & Meyer drill files. These are standard file formats accepted
by PCB fabrication companies, but given EAGLE's typical user base of small
design firms and hobbyists, many PCB fabricators and assembly shops also accept
EAGLE board files (with extension .BRD) directly to export optimized production
files and pick-and-place data themselves.
EAGLE provides a multi-window graphical user interface and menu system
for editing, project management and to customize the interface and design
parameters. The system can be controlled via mouse, keyboard hotkeys or by
entering specific commands at an embedded command line. Multiple repeating
commands can be combined into script files (with file extension .SCR). It is also
possible to explore design files utilizing an EAGLE-specific object-oriented
programming language (with extension .ULP).

Procedure to use software:-

Step 1: Starting New Project & Adding Components
First open eagle.scad then you need to hover over FILE then NEW then click on
schematic.
After that you should have a new window pop up. This is were you are going to
draw your schematic.
To add a component you need to click the add button. Then find your component.
Click OK and you should have the schematic sign of your component, just click
and it will be added. That I show you add a part. Keep doing that Intel you have all
the parts you need. To turn a component all you have to do is right click.
Step 2: Connecting Components
To connect your components you have to click the wire button. Then click on one
part you want to connect then click the other. If you right click then the angle that
the lin tirns at and direction will change.
Step 3: Converting Schematics to Boards
To convert your schematic to a board all you have to do is press the board button.
Ones you clicked that a window should pop up and you should see your components
outside of the square.to move your components click the move button. The yellow
lines that you see connecting your components means that they are unrouted. There
are 2 ways to rout your component.one way is by hand and the other way is using
the auto route button. To rout by hand you click the rout button then click the two
ends of the components. When the line that you make is red then its on the top of the
board if the line is blue than it is on the bottom.to use auto route just click auto.

Step 4: Other Things.

You can also add text in your board all you have to do is click the button that seas
text, type what you want it to say then click ok. Your text might come up in red or
blue this Is not good but it is ease to fix. All you have to do Is click select layer
button then find ether Tsilk or Bsilk. Tsilk means that your text will be on the silk
layer on the top of the board. Bsilk means that your text will be on the bottom of
the board. Then click where you want your text to be just make sure that it is not
over any holes, or pads.
