Formulas:
To covert Fahrenheit to Celsius:
1. Start with your Fahrenheit temperature.
2. Subtract 32 from Fahrenheit number.
3. Divide the answer by 9.
4. Multiply that answer by 5.
5. Round off your answer to the tenths place, if necessary.
Example:
1. 75 degrees Fahrenheit
2. 75 − 32 = 43
3. 43 ÷ 9 = 4.77…
4. 4.77… × 5 = 23.88…
5. So, 75 degrees F ≈ 23.9 degrees C.

To convert Celsius to Fahrenheit:

1. Start with your Celsius temperature
2. Multiply the Celsius number by 9.
3. Divide the answer by 5.
4. Add 32 to that answer.
5. Round off your answer to the tenths place, if necessary.
Example:
1. 17 degrees Celsius
2. 17 × 9 = 153
3. 153 ÷ 5 = 30.6
4. 30.6 + 32 = 62.6
5. So, 17 degrees C = 62.6 degrees F.

Useful Facts:
• Water freezes at 32 degrees F (0 degrees C), and boils at 212
degrees F (100 degrees C).
• Human body temperature: 98.6 degrees F (37 degrees C)
• There is only one point when a temperature is valued at the same
number in both Fahrenheit and Celsius: -40 degrees
