6-3 The Supplier shall furnish material test certificates and chemical analysis report
giving the heat analysis of each heat of steel used in the manufacture of tees. This report
shall also list the tees numbers of those tees made from the heat of steel for final
certification and shipment. Tees shall be furnished in the heat treated condition. The
base material shall be normalized or quenched and tempered before welding and stress
relieved after. Details of the heat treatment performed shall be included in the Suppliers
test report.

6-4 All barred tees shall be stress relieved as per the provisions of MSS SP 75.

6-5 Tensile properties of the barred tees shall meet the requirements of MSS SP 75.

7- DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE

7-1 Scrapper guided bars shall be provided to prevent entry of pigs/ spheres in branch
pipeline. Opening in branch pipeline through scrapper guided bars shall not be more
than 40% of the area of opening in the main pipeline. Material of bars shall be
A516gr70 & shall meet all of requirement which indicate in IPS-D-PI-149

7-2 Barred tees shall be suitable for the passage of all types of pipeline scraper and
inspection pigs on regular basis in without causing any damage to pig and scrapper
guided bars. Barred tee shall provide an unobstructed profile for pigging operations
in either direction.

7-3 Bars shall conform to material quality and manufacturing standards, and welding
compatibility to the main body of the tee.

7-4 Bars shall be of ample proportions and arranged in a configuration presenting an

acceptable streamline contour to gas flow and thus not induce vibration.

7-5 Bar edges on the run side of the tee shall be rounded and bars positioned so as to
contain the cups of a pig within the inner diameter of the run.

7-6 The bar ends shall be machined or ground to fit into the branch and welding shall be
a fillet weld completely encircling each bar. Bars of, welding shall not protrude into
the run of tee.

7-7 All butt weld ends shall be beveled as per ASME B16.9/ MSS SP 75 as applicable.

7-8 Repair by welding on parent metal of the barred tee is not allowed.
