Meet Azadeh, a key member of the MSHA program! With 15+ years of experience in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, Azadeh has worked with local NGOs, international organizations, and UN agencies to lead operations in natural disasters, conflict settings, and fragile states. Currently, as Global Humanitarian Director at Relief International, she oversees emergency responses across the globe—often deploying to crisis zones just days after they occur. Azadeh’s teaching bridges fieldwork and academia, preparing students with real-world insights into disaster response, risk reduction, and recovery programs. She also serves as faculty at the Center for Humanitarian Leadership (Deakin University) and ICRC’s Center for Excellence in Humanitarian Negotiation.
