November Highlights from PANTA RHAI

November Highlights from PANTA RHAI

November is usually a rather gloomy month—at least if you’re spending it in beautiful northern Germany. But this time, things were completely different, as many exciting, new, and future-oriented developments took place at PANTA RHAI. Even November can become quite enjoyable!

So, what happened?

This month, we continued working on exciting client projects that we’ll share more about in upcoming newsletters. These include the development of new AI-based end-to-end workflows and initiatives in upskilling employees. For instance, we conducted workshops as part of several events, demonstrating how AI can simplify daily work and improve teamwork through smart automation and a good dose of AI-driven solutions.

We’re also incredibly proud to have launched a partnership with the prestigious Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). This collaboration focuses on advancing research, education, and technological progress in artificial intelligence (AI) within the media sector. Together, we aim to foster knowledge exchange, develop innovative AI-driven tools and processes, and publish our findings. To kick things off, our CMO, Jan will inaugurate a new event series at the UAB this January (yes, just six weeks from now). The central theme will be the use of AI in journalism.

It’s clear that responsible use of AI must be more than just lip service. That’s why we’re thrilled that our co-founder, Arian, is contributing to a major EU AI Office initiative aimed at developing a code of conduct for general-purpose AI models in Europe.

What truly makes life exciting and inspiring is connecting with people. This month, we had the pleasure of speaking with fascinating individuals who offered us insights into their unique worlds.

Myriam Bessa, the mind behind the AI influencer "Kenza Layli," shared how such an artificial influencer comes to life. Kenza was even recently crowned "Miss AI."

We also spoke with Eden Benibo, Editorial Director of Hello ICON Magazine, who was recently recognized with the INMA 30 Under 30 Award. In our interview, she shared her thoughts on AI's impact on journalism, her experiences at the ACOS conference, and her vision for an inclusive, tech-driven future of content creation.

What were your highlights this November?

Our Educational Collaboration with the UAB

Collaboration with UAB

This month we conversed with Carmina Crusafon Baqués - professor and coordinator of the degree “Journalism & Innovation in Digital Contents” at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). From our discussion we identified the common interest to foster the practical use of AI in education. The idea for a collaboration arose.

Together with the UAB we are proud to now announce a future collaboration, focussed on an exchange of knowledge, aimed at leading the path for the new generation of journalists and media experts of thinking in new ways and practically leveraging the potential of AI.

He is part of two working groups: ensuring transparency and copyright compliance, and creating effective risk management and governance strategies for AI models with systemic risks.
