Business Rewards Those Who Are Different

Business Rewards Those Who Are Different

Entrepreneurs make hay about their difference, their insight, and the elevated quality of their products and services, but then, nothing. Nothing happens in the marketplace to validate their claims. Why? This is why.

Words

If you want to be perceived as different, you must first say something no one else is saying. You must act differently, tell different stories, and take the time to move away from the expected. Sounds like work, doesn't it? It is work, but work that is incredibly rewarding.

Looks

To be clear, I am not talking about dyeing your hair pink or painting your face with arrows and semicolons. I am talking mainly about how you talk, your content, and the way you express yourself.

Tender

Language is tender. The right words are so soft that they sit on your shoulder like a gnat wearing socks, yet so powerful they touch your heart like a grandmother's hug. Do you know how to balance what you think about yourself with what you are saying about yourself? The time you spend learning the art and craft of storytelling will end up being the highest-returning investment you ever make.

Well said! Thanks for sharing this Dennis. Don't be afraid to be different. Be afraid of being like everyone else. Be divergent and don't follow the herd.
