#FirstStep In today’s world, we’re often overwhelmed by information and choices. Instead of encouraging us, this abundance can sometimes paralyze us with fear of making mistakes. The unknown can be daunting, making it hard to take that first step. After Wednesday’s Women Go Tech panel discussion with Evaldas Marcinkus (he/him) and Lina Papinigė, my additional pieces of advice are: find a mentor or a partner to join you on this journey. Embrace opportunities without committing until you’re sure. Attend meetups, listen to presentations, participate in hackathons, and most importantly, start by asking questions. Truth Thursday: Gen Z is soft And we are damn thankful for it! Generation Z might be tagged as 'soft', but let’s get real—they're actually redefining what strength looks like in the workplace, AND we are all benefiting! Their 'softness'? Yeah, it’s called having essential skills and not settling for old traditions that life is about work—empathy, adaptability, and collaboration.. Maybe it's time we all took notes. Empathy: Oh, they actually care about their colleagues' feelings and foster inclusive environments. Revolutionary, right? Adaptability: Born into digital chaos, they handle change better than most of us handled dial-up. (Remember you could make a whole meal while waiting for it to connect 🤣) Teamwork: They prefer collaboration over going solo. Because, you know, two heads are better than one—surprise! I wanted to share my thoughts about #GenZ. There is a lot of controversy about Gen Z being lazy or demanding, whereas I see this generation as an opportunity to innovate. Regardless of which generation you belong to, there is no question that the changes being suggested and implemented benefit everyone. If Covid-19 taught us anything, it was that with the trust and collaboration of your team, you can innovate quickly and effectively, work flexibly and ultimately find unique strategies to achieve success.
