There are times when the weight of the moment demands not just action, but action rooted in courage and love. This election and the impending administration demand such a moment, and we’ve responded by moving $300,000 to 28 organizations led by BIPOC women, gender-expansive people, and frontline organizers shaping our feminist future in real time. This is more than philanthropy, it’s an act of love, hope, and solidarity, redistributing resources to meet the urgency of this moment. Vivienne Hayes MBE, Chief Executive of the national charity, Women's Resource Centre has this to say about #InLoveandAnger, the report of the #TinasHaven pilot project published tomorrow. 💖🌸🧚♀️ “I am honoured to have been invited to write this foreword. The work of all the women involved in this truly groundbreaking pilot led by the vision, human love and commitment of Dr Sue Robson is a revelation. Tina’s Haven is a celebration of what can - and indeed must - be achieved for and with women who, as a result of extensive male violence and what I must name as state violence, are vilified and punished in the cruelest of ways, by the enforced removal of their children. In a time when too much provision for women has become industrialised and driven by state- determined frameworks often unfit for purpose, this pilot project provides hope and a re-positioning of how to actually meet the needs of the women involved. The interweaving of a critical theoretical approach for social transformation based upon the Black Feminist work of Professor Patricia Hill Collins, and a clear and deliberate feminist practice delivers the change we desperately need to see in how women are supported and empowered. This is how our wider women’s sector should be operating. The success of Tina’s Haven is a result of it being located in a clear analysis of structural inequality and the simultaneous actions necessary to begin to address this, which requires a women-only multi layered, holistic design. I hope this wonderful, joyous, and liberating model of work will give food for thought to all those who wish to see women’s rights achieved. Tina’s Haven should be used as a blueprint by service providers; because, in the words of Audre Lorde: “The master’s tools will never dismantle the master’s house.””

We still have much more work beyond March, like with July for Black Women, August for Moms, October for Latina Women, November for Native Women…and that’s only naming a few! Was such an honor last week to engage in discussions and hear what we all must still do from Barbara Turner, Alicia Miller, Holly Hankinson, Sara Kahmann, CFRE - their inspiring journeys, community leadership, and philanthropic commitments. Proud of progress made and relentless advocacy from The Women's Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation , continuing to bring us together and empowering progress. Got to meet & learn from community champions & allies, and some of whom weren’t even allowed to open their own bank accounts to deposit their initial unequal paychecks on their own either. (Since 1974 was landmark with yet another Act to make it happen despite already law in 1960). How lucky am I that get to benefit from so much courage and wisdom from those before me? How lucky am I that Microsoft is committed to transparency breeding equity & inclusion? - sharing pay range data with JD’s & not asking about salary history. How lucky am I that I am empowered to continue our fight for a better for future, where all can participate, prosper, & reach their potential? Not to be underestimated, should be celebrated and pushed for more accountability; I have faith and fury that our elected officials & networks will work harder to catch up. (PS - Appreciate the nudge on this unique forum and also for your continued board commitment, Jyotsna Bernet! ) #PayTransparency #MSFTAdvocate #EqualPayDay #AdvancingEquity
Gratitude Alert! The Women's Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation gives a heartfelt shoutout to Barbara Turner and her incredible foundation, BT RISE for their generous sponsorship of our recent fundraiser held on March 14, in recognition of Equal Pay Day! Barbara's unwavering support for Equal Pay resonates deeply with our mission at The Women's Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation . Barbara, your dedication to our cause empowers us to continue our vital work, striving for equality and empowerment for women and girls. Thank you for being a beacon of hope and change in our community. We are truly grateful for your partnership! #EmpowerWomen #BTRise #ThankYouBarbara

In celebration of #womenshistorymonth McDaniel Law is making donations to each staff member's organization of choice that helps to support women and girls. Attorney Ronald Wittel selected She Should Run. "Women make up half the population in the United States but fewer then 1/3 are in elected leadership. Women face many obstacles when seeking elected office including gender discrimination, receiving less support from party leaders, and some Americans are not ready to elect women to higher offices. She Should Run is working to combat these obstacles and increase the number of women running and obtaining elected office, so women are more adequately represented in positions of leadership." - Ron Wittel Additional information and how you can help this organization can be found at sheshouldrun.org. #sheshouldrun #leadership #giving #girlfirm #leadbyexample #bethechangeyouwanttosee #womeninlaw #womenlawyers #mcdaniellaw

Quick, flexible resources from a trusted funder can be a lifeline for women, trans, and nonbinary activists who face direct threats to their safety and well-being. The fact that traditional philanthropy is often slow-moving, operates from a top-down model, and has too much red tape to quickly help activists in urgent need puts feminist activists' lives in danger, puts their movements at risk, and impacts their ability to create change. Funders, learn more about the role you play in shifting power and resources directly into the hands of frontline feminist movements. This sounds straight up like a corrupted organization. What happens is that one person is implanted into a great organization and then they corrupt through management and marketing. Money that is supposed to help the marginalized and impoverished soon just helps a few people that really do not need it. Next thing you know there are no clients just a couple of people sitting in a desk in a building really offering no services. Meanwhile they impoverished are victimized and thrown to the curb. We need to continuously call this out an find out legal ways to handle such destruction within out Frist Nations communities-and move fast to stop it.

How many more people need to be harmed until board takes action, including the indigenous women and families this org is meant to be helping. This makes it over 200 staff turnovers since new ED started in Nov 2016. Shame

This year's theme for Women’s History Month is "Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion." Women have always been at the forefront of the fight for equity, diversity, and inclusion. From the suffragettes to the civil rights activists to the women who are leading the fight for gender equality today, women have been the ones who have pushed our society forward. This Women's History Month, I want to take a moment to inspire you to celebrate the women who are working to make our world a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive place. These women are the ones who are fighting for equal pay, equal opportunity, and equal representation for all women. They are the ones who are working to break down the barriers that have held women back for so long. I am proud to work for a company that is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Link Logistics is a leader in this area, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such talented and dedicated women. Here are a couple of ways that Link is leading the way in DEI: We have a Women's Leadership Council, Ascend, which is a group of senior women who are committed to advancing the careers of women at the company. Link is a signatory to CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion, which is a pledge to take action to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace. It is an honor to be a part of a company that is committed to making a difference in the lives of women. This Women's History Month, I encourage you to learn more about the women who are working to make our world a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive place. Check out this article for more on this year’s theme. #lifeatlink #spacetogrow #link #industrialrocks #womenshistorymonth #womenleadership

Are you wondering how you can participate in the #16DaysofActivism Campaign at an individual level? Here are a few ideas; 💌 Donate to/offer to volunteer at a Women's Rights Organisation. During this time, women's rights organisations are often doing alot of amazing work with very small budgets. Your help could lessen the burden! 🎤 Don't be afraid to be, "the friend that's too woke!" Start conversations around feminist issues within your circles. 👥 Stand in solidarity with women's rights organisations and feminist collectives. Whatever that looks like in your context-- whether it's joining in a march or resharing campaigns. All actions matter towards building a violence free world for women and girls!
