As we head towards the Thanksgiving holiday in America, may we truly be thankful. Over the years, I've noticed a trend of people being less thankful and more inclined to complain. However, being thankful is not just a religious observation; it's a universal practice that enriches our lives and workplaces. Thanksgiving has its roots in the early 17th century when the Pilgrims celebrated their first successful harvest with a feast, sharing their gratitude with the Native Americans who helped them. This tradition of giving thanks has evolved, but its essence remains the same: recognizing and appreciating the good in our lives. In the professional world, gratitude can transform our work environment. It fosters a positive culture, enhances teamwork, and boosts morale. When we take a moment to appreciate our colleagues, the opportunities we have, and the progress we've made, we create a more supportive and productive workplace. I know one of the many things I am thankful for is my career at Jack Henry. I have had the opportunity to learn and grow from some amazing people, and it is all because of the great culture that our founders instilled at the beginning. Let's use this Thanksgiving to reflect on our blessings and express our gratitude. Whether it's a simple thank you to a coworker, acknowledging the efforts of your team, or appreciating the support of your network, let's make thankfulness a part of our professional lives. Happy Thanksgiving to all! 🦃🍂 #Thanksgiving #Gratitude #Thankful #ProfessionalGrowth #PositiveWorkplace #Teamwork #Leadership #WorkCulture #ThanksgivingHistory

Taking time off is essential—not only to recharge and stay effective in the workplace 💼 but also as a reminder to appreciate the people who support us on our professional journeys. I'm deeply grateful to have had the last few days to reflect, spend time with friends and family, and enjoy the holiday season 🍂. It's easy to get caught up in the professional demands of the present and past, but moments like these, coupled with a little mandatory time off (thank you, Matthew Wade & Aionios LLC!), provide an opportunity to pause and recognize what truly matters: the people, the connections 🤝, and the balance we strive for every day ⚖️. Our work is important. It fuels us financially, personally, and sometimes even creatively. But balance is key. With the right approach, we can nurture both our personal and professional lives—and yes, we really can have our cake and eat it too. Here's to gratitude, balance, and making time for what matters most 🌟. #Family #WorkLifeBalance #Hiring #Grateful #Opportunities

Thanksgiving appreciation: what if we all reset our humility levels? Canadian Thanksgiving in early October. US Thanksgiving in late November. Autumn has traditionally been a time of harvesting and appreciation leading up to turning the page into a New Year. Who agrees that some commitment to truth and humility could go a long way to set a more reasonable foundation for 2025? If we don’t express it, we will never materialize it. For those with professional client service and relationship responsibilities, the next few weeks is a great time to show appreciation, to seek their aspirations and business plans for 2025. Making your client approach into partnership · Being in service · Humility goes a long way towards clients opening up · Genuine and active inquiry and dialogue · Understanding well before suggesting solution Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving has always been about gratitude, but the context of what we’re grateful for has evolved dramatically since its origins. When the holiday began, it was about survival—celebrating the harvest, community, and shared resources in a time when life was deeply tied to nature and basic needs. Today, modern life offers conveniences unimaginable back then: advanced healthcare, instant global communication, abundant food, and the ability to connect across vast distances. But these blessings also come with challenges—digital overload, environmental concerns, and sometimes a disconnection from the simplicity of life’s essentials. Perhaps this Thanksgiving, we can use the lens of gratitude to re-center ourselves. Beyond material comforts, we might reflect on connection—to others, to the environment, and to ourselves. How can we honor the spirit of coming together in a time when individualism often dominates? It’s also an opportunity to recognize how far we’ve come while acknowledging the work still to do. What lessons can we take from the original spirit of Thanksgiving to bring more balance and meaning into our lives today? 📷Sarah Lynn Thomas 💃🏼 Monika Martuzevičiūtė

🌟 #MotivationMonday: A Thanksgiving Reflection on Gratitude 🌟 🦃As we celebrate Thanksgiving today, it’s a beautiful time to reflect on gratitude and what it means in our lives. Robert Emmons, a leading researcher in gratitude, reminds us that gratitude has two key parts. First, it's an acknowledgment that there are good things in the world. Second, it's recognizing that much of this goodness comes from outside of ourselves—from the people, places, and experiences that enrich our lives. Gratitude invites us to appreciate these things and connect with others, which, in turn, enhances our well-being. So today, let's focus on expanding our gratitude practice by looking at different areas of life where we can give thanks: ✔ People: family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, or even the friendly cashier at your local store. ✔ Things: a warm home, favorite foods, a cherished pet, or something simple like flowers. ✔ Places: that cozy coffee shop, nature trails, the beach, or any place that brings you peace. ✔ Experiences: laughter with friends, family reunions, or even a simple walk in nature. Taking a moment today to reflect on these areas can help us feel more connected and grounded. Personally, I know that I have many things to be grateful for; but, most of all, I’m grateful for my loving family. What’s one thing, person, place, or experience you're grateful for today? 🦃 #motivationmonday #motivationmondays #MondayMotivation #NewWeekNewOpportunities #RiseAndShine #PersonalGrowth #GratitudeMatters #Thanksgiving #PersonalGrowth

Being thankful 2 years ago, I returned from a five-day family vacation in Puerto Rico, and as I settled into this season of gratitude, I found myself reflecting on how we got here. A quick Google search led me to the story of Thanksgiving in America, which is rich with lessons. The pilgrims of Plymouth had incredible courage to make the journey to America, but their survival hinged on the help of local natives. After enduring kidnapping and slavery, Squanto returned home to teach the Pilgrims how to cultivate corn, catch fish, and avoid poisonous plants. Without his guidance, their story might have ended very differently. Thanks to this miraculous assistance from the Wampanoag tribe, the Pilgrims celebrated their first successful harvest with a Thanksgiving feast, inviting their Indian allies to share in their joy. It’s a reminder that even amidst hardship, we have the power to choose gratitude. David Steindl-Rast, a Benedictine monk, beautifully articulates this sentiment: “The root of joy is gratefulness... It is not joy that makes us grateful; it is gratitude that makes us joyful.” Each moment offers us the chance to embrace gratitude, cultivating a heart that radiates joy. Sharing a table with those who are different from us, whether family or friends, often comes with challenges and awkward conversations. It’s all too easy to judge or blame rather than engage and learn from our differences. That first Thanksgiving meal serves as a model for us today, reminding us to embrace gratitude as a daily discipline. It’s particularly difficult to be thankful for the people or situations that have caused us pain. Yet, transcending that hurt and learning to be grateful for it can free us from the grip of others' actions dictating our responses. As Victor Frankl wisely said, “It’s not what we expect of life but what life expects of us.” Whether it’s with family, work, or in our personal journeys, I encourage you to find the value in gratitude in more moments. Let’s celebrate this season by choosing to be thankful, even amidst the complexities of life.

Gratitude Beyond Work As we approach Thanksgiving, I find myself reflecting on the many circles in life that shape who we are—our families, friends, and work families. Each connection we have enriches us in unique ways, whether it’s the laughter shared around a dinner table, the late-night talks with a close friend, or the camaraderie built during a project with colleagues. Thanksgiving isn’t just a day; it’s a reminder to pause and express gratitude for all the people who make our lives meaningful. At work, it’s easy to focus on goals and deliverables, but behind every success is a team of individuals who support, inspire, and challenge each other to be better. At home, it’s the love, patience, and shared memories that give us strength. This holiday, I encourage us all to take a moment to acknowledge those who uplift us in big and small ways. Write a note to a friend, thank a teammate, or simply spend a little extra time with loved ones. I’m grateful for the journey we’re all on together—inside and outside of work. Wishing everyone a warm and meaningful Thanksgiving surrounded by those who matter most. What are you most thankful for this year? Let’s share and spread the gratitude. #Thanksgiving #Gratitude #FamilyAndFriends #WorkFamily #EnerSys
