Canada Child Benefit Boost: Increased Payments Arrive This Friday This Friday, Canadian families will receive the latest installment of the Canada Child Benefit (CCB), a federal initiative designed to support low and middle-income families with the rising costs of child-rearing. Eligible for this non-taxable monthly payment are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or refugees who are primary caregivers of children under 18. Introduced in 2016, the amount each family receives depends on their net income and the number of children they have. Families earning less than $34,863 annually qualify for the maximum benefit, which provides up to $7,437 per child under six and $6,275 for children aged six to 17 each year. This translates to monthly payments of up to $619.75 and $522.91, respectively. Adjusted annually every July for inflation, the benefit saw a 6.3% increase this year. Applications can be submitted online, by mail, or through a child’s birth registration. The next payment is scheduled for May 17. #VeritasMedia#CanadaChildBenefit#CCB#FamilySupport#ChildCareFunding#CanadianFamilies#FinancialAid#NonTaxableBenefit#IncomeBasedSupport#FederalPrograms#RaisingChildren#CostOfLivingAdjustment#ChildBenefits#SupportingParents#GovernmentAid#FamilyIncome#CanadianWelfare#MonthlyPayments#ChildRearingCosts#EligibilityCriteria#FinancialAssistance

The Canada Child Benefit (CCB) is a tax-free monthly payment for eligible families to help offset the costs of raising children under 18. To apply for CCB, you must be a resident of Canada for tax purposes and live with and act as the primary caregiver for a child under 18. If two parents live in the home with the child or children, the female parent is presumed to be the primary caregiver and should be the one applying for the benefit. If the other parent is primarily responsible for the child, they can apply and attach a letter from the female parent verifying the responsibility. For same-sex parents, only one parent should apply. The amount you receive depends on the number of children, the age of the children, and the adjusted family net income (AFNI) as reported on the previous year’s tax return. Households with an AFNI under $36,502 are eligible for the full amount of $7,787 per year ($648.91 per month) for each child under 6, or $6,570 per year ($547.50 per month) for each child between 6-17. Payments gradually decrease if the AFNI is above $36,502. You can apply for this benefit by visiting your My Account page on the CRA website or by sending Form RC66. #financialmatters #moneymatters #moneystyles #financialliteracy #financialadvisorcanada #assantefinancial #thesouthallgroup #laurasouthall #laurasouthallfinancial

Did you know that… - About one in five youth are caregivers. - Women provide the majority of unpaid care. - 1.8 million Canadians are “sandwich caregivers” – that is, they provide unpaid care to both children and care-dependent adults. - 86% of sandwich caregivers say that their care responsibilities affect at least one aspect of their health and well-being. Today is National Caregiver Day in Canada, a day to recognize the essential work that caregivers do to make a difference in the lives of many people across the country. It is also an opportunity for us to understand the care economy’s contribution to Canada’s economy as a whole, and to rethink how paid and unpaid care work are valued. On this day, two weeks before the federal budget is announced, Oxfam and our partners are calling for the creation of a care economy commission to recommend transformative changes that will strengthen Canada’s care systems. Strong actions by governments are needed to transform the current conditions of care with bold policies tackling the root of the current care crisis. To learn more about the policy landscape of paid and unpaid care in Canada, take a look at Oxfam’s report: https://lnkd.in/eJset8tp #NationalCaregiverDay2024

"Here is what I'll do: increase your taxes by $1,000 and then give you back $500 through inefficiently executed, high admin, reward my buddies schemes such as the Child Benefit, "Free" contraceptives, "Free" dental, the Weather Rebate, etc." "I know you are all too dumb to realize you are being fleeced, especially future generations that will have to pay back the over $600B of debt I borrowed so you didn't have to. Of course, they will need to forego families, affordable housing and vacations to do so but, hey, at least they can enjoy the few freebies I've concocted." "Maybe I should have passed on destroying Canada's natural resource sector and spent some on growth and innovation but these investments are not as popular Liberal vote-buying schemes as my endless "freebies"". "Much more coming in my year left as your leader. I'm sure you can't wait". Justin Trudeau: Not fit to lead.
Today, the next Canada Child Benefit payment goes out to parents all across Canada. Pierre Poilievre voted against the Canada Child Benefit – but we’ll always be there for Canadian families.

What is wrong with you? You didn't "invent" this, you just changed the name. Used to be called Baby Bonus, so stop pretending you are "saving" Canadians. Axe the tax, then maybe it may help families receiving this, otherwise you and your stupid scam carbon tax still makes everything unaffordable, whether you have children or not. One in four Canadians now living in poverty because of you and your corrupt government. Now you want to save families with $10.00 per day child care. Another BS socialist communist scheme of yours, impossible at $10.00 so it will be subsidized by who else, us the taxpayers. Same with your communistic national food program. All will be paid by Canadian taxpayers including ones who have children and those who don't. Where is the fairness in that? Those who don't have children will be paying for the entire country, like it or lump it. Same with your free dental care and free birth control and diabetes medication. Take your pharmaplan and stick it where the sun doesn't shine. Canadians cannot afford to pay for your socialist communist programs and most of all DON'T WANT !!! Get it? Of course not because that is what you want to be the dictator over Canadians and take all our freedoms away. Get lost and leave Canadians in peace now. STOP AND DESIST lying away like you are the saviour of Canadians. You are not and cannot even manage to save yourself much less an entire country. One day you may grow out of your fantasies and regret what you have done to Canadians. One day perhaps, but between now and then you will continue to destroy us and our country as long as you can. You pretend to be a saviour, pfffftttt, you are the exact opposite. Think about that for a second or two. Canadians know, you don't. We're not as stupid as you were hoping for. Sucks to be you. 🤔💭🤔 Another beautiful day here at home. ☺️ Got this off my chest today, but the day isn't over yet. Phew, that felt good !!! 😉😜 Wishing Canadians and the World a beautiful, wonderful day. ❤️ 🕊 🌞

💡 The ALICE Survival Budget is the bare minimum income an individual or family must earn to meet their basic needs. 🔎 It is based on county-level data about local prices of essential goods, including housing, childcare, food, transportation, healthcare, and technology. It also factors in tax payments and tax credits. It also takes into account household makeup: the number of adults, seniors, and ages of children. 💙 This information is crucial for understanding who in our community is struggling - including many who earn above the Federal Poverty Level. 👉 To view your household's survival budget, visit https://lnkd.in/g8Kbns7X #UnitedIsTheWay #UnitedWay #SEMinnesota #ALICE24

The rising cost of emergency placements for children is alarming 😟. In recent years, the cost of emergency residential or supported accommodation placements for children in the UK has skyrocketed. Local authorities are grappling with budget constraints, yet the demand for these placements continues to surge. This isn't just a financial issue; it's a matter of ensuring vulnerable children receive the care they desperately need. According to the latest figures, the average cost of an emergency placement has increased by 20% over the past year alone (source: Local Government Association). This is putting immense pressure on councils, many of which are already stretched thin. The knock-on effect? Longer waiting times and potentially less suitable placements for children who need immediate support. Kingston Noble currently support Local Authorities with interim or long term wrap around support for children in crisis. Take a look at some of the support we provide #ChildWelfare #SocialCare #UKFunding #childincrisis #emergencysupport

Navigating Tax Credits and Benefits for Individuals – Canada Child Benefit (CCB) Did you know about the Canada Child Benefit (CCB)? Here's what you need to know to see if you're eligible: 1. Who Can Apply: You must live with a child under 18, be primarily responsible for their care, and be a resident of Canada for tax purposes. More details on eligibility are available on the CRA's website. 2. Primary Caregiver: The person primarily responsible for the child's care should apply for the CCB. This includes supervising daily activities, meeting medical needs, and arranging childcare when necessary. 3. Female Parent Presumption: In households with two parents, the female parent is presumed to be primarily responsible for all children under the Income Tax Act. However, exceptions can be made if the other parent is primarily responsible. 4. Child Custody Arrangements: If custody is shared, it's important to determine your status with the CRA and inform them of any changes. 💼 Need assistance navigating the Canada Child Benefit or other tax matters? As MPs debate the King's Speech this week, we urge Keir Starmer to abolish the two-child limit. It inflicts suffering and deprivation on 1 in 9 children growing up in the UK. Figures from Child Poverty Action Group UK reveal: ▪️ 45% of families affected struggle to pay rent or mortgage ▪️ 46% of families affected struggle to manage childcare costs ▪️ 82% of families affected struggle to pay gas/electricity bills ▪️ 93% of families affected struggle to pay for food The UK Government cannot ignore this injustice. It has a responsibility to help them now. 🔗 Find out more: https://lnkd.in/eFZANbcg

Over the next few weeks, we'll share with you basic principles we feel are MUST HAVES in the Canada Disability Benefit. Shape the CDB 7 Key Principle #1 Urgency Only 25,000 people will be raised to the poverty line, and not until 2028 - too few, too late. Concern: The timeline is July 2025 for payments to begin - but only to those who have managed to get a DTC Certificate, file their taxes for the previous year and complete the application. The number of people receiving the benefit next year will be far too low. Only 25,000 people are expected to be lifted to the poverty line - not until 2028. Solution: Automatically enroll anyone who meets the basic criteria of having a DTC certificate, has filed their taxes, and is low income, so that they do not have to apply through this as-yet unknown process. Start promoting activities that disabled people need to do, like file their taxes, in the New Year with appropriate accessible support to do them. #BetterTheBenefit #DisabilityWithPossibility #DisabilityWithoutPoverty
