Congratulations to Calicia Johnson, M.S.⭐ and all the other honorees for their recognition at the Unlock HER Power event, which awarded Leading Black Women Executives in community building, fundraising and capital markets. Every celebrated executive dropped gems throughout their panel and you can listen to the video to below to get a glimpse of the experience. Wise words worth echoing here: 💎 If you’re trying to figure out how to gain the leadership skills to move up in your company, consider exploring leadership roles in orgs and non-profits outside your company where you can grow and showcase those skills. 💎 Some of the most powerful words in the human language are “I need help.” Don’t be afraid to use them to get to where you need to be.

One thing I love about cozy mysteries? Most of them feature women as the main characters–and they are the detectives, the masterminds and the heroes of their own narratives. As we enter Women’s History Month, I love to think about the women voices who have made literature, and especially the mystery genre, what it is today. And about the other women who had their voices muted or obscured by the prevailing narratives of their time. In the work I do, I love to watch more women take ownership of their creativity and their self-expression. Women, in particular, often face unique challenges in finding their voices and asserting their stories in a world that can be indifferent or even hostile to their perspectives. But through mentorship and guidance, I see them reclaiming their narratives, embracing their creativity and creating their own paths with confidence and purpose. This month–and all months–we must celebrate the achievements of the women who have paved the way for us but also commit ourselves to amplifying the voices of those whose stories have yet to be told. We need to recognize that every woman contributes to our collective human experience. Let’s celebrate resilient, creative, empowered women on ALL the days. 💪

From historic firsts to pioneering the world’s most innovative concepts, women have made extraordinary contributions to the world as we know it. Yet, so many of these iconic women’s achievements have gone largely unnoticed because they were never documented in history books. For example, Albert Einstein’s first wife, Mileva Marić-Einstein, was a physicist too – and there’s plenty of evidence that her work contributed significantly to his groundbreaking science. They decided to publish under his name because a man's name carried more weight. The purpose of this campaign is simple, but powerful: Make the invisible visible by highlighting forgotten women in history. With a small social team of just a few people (who truly love uncovering the history of trailblazing women) and zero budget, we’ve organically grown this series post by post.
