Did you know that recycling paper helps reduce tree felling, save energy and reduce landfill waste? But how can you contribute to this essential cycle? Here are some tips 👇 ✨ Separate Clean Paper: Make sure the paper you recycle is not contaminated with food or grease residues. 📎 Remove Staples and Paper Clips: Before recycling, remove any metallic elements to facilitate the recycling process. 🚮 Donate Used Paper: If you have paper that you no longer need but can still be used, consider donating it to schools, offices or recycling centers. ♻ Use Recycled Paper: Opt for recycled paper whenever possible to further reduce your environmental impact. #paper #recycle #recycledpaper #seekingatotallysustainablefuture #uniter #Checkpoint #CCLIndustries

How can we control the amount of waste that we produce in order to promote sustainability? There are many ways! We can go paperless. How to process waste: reduce, reuse, and recycle. #ReduceWaste #Reuse #Recycle #Sustainability #GoGreen Reduce, reuse, and recycle are the three most important ways to process waste. By following these steps, we can help to conserve resources and protect the environment. Reduce: Reduce the amount of waste you generate by buying only what you need, avoiding single-use items, and choosing products with minimal packaging. Reuse: Reuse items whenever possible. This could involve using a refillable water bottle, bringing your shopping bags, or donating old clothes to charity. Recycle: Recycle items that cannot be reused. This includes paper, plastic, metal, and glass. Check with your local recycling center to find out what materials they accept.

Last year, a massive 1.76 million metric tons of waste for landfill was collected in England.* Bringing this figure down takes a collective effort. However, as Lighthouse Security are based in England but with a global reach, and with sustainability as a priority, we are going the extra mile to ensure that no waste goes to landfill. So, what happens to these items instead? 👉 Metals are shredded, sorted and recycled. 👉 Plastic is shredded and returned to industry manufacturers to be reused and turned into a variety of products including plant pots and garden furniture. 👉 Textiles are repurposed then donated to our charity partners where possible, or shredded and then spun into recycled yarn. We provide one solution, one location, ZERO to landfill ♻️ If you are looking for the secure storage and removal of items, we provide a full chain of custody for your items. Most importantly, we ensure that no waste ends up in landfills. Creating Change Blog 1: Waste This is the first Blog of a three-part series addressing the problems related to excessive plastic waste. I will provide necessary context of the issue and convey a clear necessity for change. By examining this issue, I plan to inform my audience and change their consumption behaviors related to plastics. This problem relates to Goal 12 of the United Nation’s Sustainability Development which seeks to ensure global Responsible Consumption and Production. According to Our World in Data, global plastic waste is disposed of in four main methods; stored in landfills, is mismanaged, gets incinerated, and recycled. Globally In 2019, 49.21% of plastic waste ended up in landfills and 22.7% was mismanaged by being burned in open pits or ended up as pollution. 18.08% of global plastic waste was properly incinerated, and 9.29% was recycled. These figures may be staggering for some and expected for others. Personally, I expected the recycling figure to be lower. Using the same graph, we can see the United States' methods of dealing with plastic waste. In 2019, 72.88% of plastic waste ended up buried in landfills and only 5.92% was mismanaged. As for Incineration, 19.08% of U.S plastic waste was burned, and a measly 4.49% was recycled. It is clear as day that we are behind most of the world when it comes to recycling programs but are great at burying our problems. I propose that this lack of response to excessive waste is due to a lack of awareness and critical thinking from the consumer populace. If there was more awareness and care for this issue, it would be considered more when creating policy. I seek to address this lack of awareness by informing the audience of the negative impacts of plastics. References:

🌊 The Great Pacific Garbage Patch GPGP is the largest accumulation of floating ocean #plastics in the world. The Ocean Cleanup, a non-profit organization operating to rid the world’s oceans of plastic, has revealed an alarming trend about the GPGP: ‼️the rapid rise in smaller plastic fragments that is nearly fivefold increase in just seven years. It creates long-term, potentially irreversible damage to our #oceans. ⚠️ If we delay, the impacts of plastic #pollution will become even more challenging to reverse it. Move to #paper packaging! https://bit.ly/3CZBZoP #paperpackaging #papersolutions #paperbags #papershoppingbags #noplastic #plasticfree #movetopaper #sustainability #sustainablepackaging #future #savetheoceans #fioriniinternational

Did you know that 53 million tons of e-waste was generated worldwide? That's the weight of 350 cruise ships! And a shocking 82.6% of that e-waste isn't recycled! 🚮 We all know the mantra: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. But when it comes to IT assets, we need to consider a fourth 'R': Resell. 💻 Instead of letting old computers sit in a landfill, why not give them a second life? Here are seven factors to consider when choosing between recycling, donating, or reselling your IT assets: 1. **Data Security:** Ensure all data is certifiably wiped clean before disposal. 2. **Environmental Impact:** Consider the environmental footprint of your disposal method. 3. **Value Recovery:** Can you get some monetary value from your old assets? 4. **Compliance:** Do you follow all legal and regulatory guidelines? 5. **Reputation:** How will your choice affect your company's image? 6. **Logistics:** What are the costs and efforts involved in each disposal method? 7. **Charitable Causes:** Can your old assets help someone in need? So, what's your take? Should we recycle, donate, or resell IT assets? #ITassets #ewaste #sustainability #certificationmatters #recycle
