46 and not stopping there! No, not my age, but the number of locations in which BT Openreach has stopped selling legacy analogue and ISDN lines and upgrades. 🤔 Are you ready to switch in time for the move to an all-IP network by 2025? Openreach's stop-sell program marks a significant shift in telecommunications infrastructure. It's crucial for businesses to recognise the implications of this transition, especially if they are still using old call recording systems relying on analogue and ISDN technology. Here's why the change is imperative: *Openreach is notifying communication providers about ceasing copper-based products/services in 920 exchanges, covering approximately 8.5 million premises. *Openreach's stop-sell program is a proactive initiative to encourage the adoption of digital services over full-fibre connections. *46 new exchange locations, covering 344,931 premises, have been added to the program. *Openreach's focus on ultrafast full fibre network deployment necessitates the phasing out of old technologies. *The move away from analogue and ISDN technology allows for a more streamlined approach, aligning with the pace of technological advancements. 🤔 Older call recording systems using analogue and ISDN technology are becoming obsolete. Replacement parts are no longer being manufactured, making the maintenance of these systems increasingly challenging. 🤔 If your business relies on an old call recording system, you should urgently consider upgrading to IP to avoid disruptions in your vital communications. We can help with the transition, no matter what type of call recording system or phone system you have! .............. I'm Everton Stuart I help telecoms and IT suppliers transition their customers to IP, and Teams call recording systems. Please hit SAVE; you never know when you might need our help! THE BIG 2025 SWITCH-OFF Openreach has announced it will be switching off its PSTN and ISDN networks in 2025 in favour of IP voice services, with a gradual phase-out of the older systems. At this point, Openreach will cease taking ISDN orders, and all businesses will be forced to find other IP-based options for their business telephony systems. Starting September 2023, the UK will no longer support installations or additions to ISDN or PSTN services. The Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) and Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) are traditional telecommunication systems, with PSTN being the primary analogue voice communication network and ISDN allowing digital transmission of voice, video, and other services. However, these systems are now outdated, with a 30% decline in ISDN use over the past five years and 25% of UK businesses unaware of this phase-out. The shift to IP-based services like SIP and VoIP, which offer more flexibility and cost-effectiveness, is crucial for businesses to adapt to modern telecom needs. This transition is part of the broader move to cloud-based systems, necessitating robust internet connections to support enhanced features and reliability. ISL provides comprehensive management of broadband, mobile, and internet connections, aiding businesses in this transition.
