Video Podcasting: A Passing Trend or the Next Big Thing? In recent years, a boom in the podcasting industry has fundamentally shifted the way we consume media. From a niche format to a mainstream storytelling tool, podcasts have redefined engagement. According to the PwC report, Global Entertainment & Media Outlook 2020–2024, India, with its 57.6 million monthly listeners, is already the third-largest podcast listening market in the world, after China and the US. But the question arises: Is video podcasting just a trend, or is it here to stay? In a country where storytelling is deeply ingrained in our culture, visuals add a compelling dimension. A podcast about finance or health becomes far more engaging when supported by charts, animations, or simply the host's candid expressions. Platforms like YouTube, where 70% of India’s video content consumption happens (Statista), have become key drivers of this trend.
