One of which was the 7 day reduction in time-to-fill for companies leveraging automation & ai around the matching and screening process. I've been thinking about this quite a bit in the context of marketing activities >>> recruiting activities. I'm working on pulling together my thoughts around this, but really think it mirrors the 'two funnels' that exist in B2B SaaS marketing. Interesting take on the future of AI vs. recruitment agencies and I have some thoughts... We'd be naïve to ignore the changes that tech is making to workflow and replacing aspects of manual labour in services, however there are some things that AI cannot replicate and (in my opinion) are invaluable when dealing with real people. 🗣 Face to face meetings - this is crucial to understanding a person; their likes/dislikes, aspirations, motivators, communication style, morals, etc etc. So much nuance is learnt through real conversations and so much is missed from an online profile. This goes for both candidates AND clients! 💟 Compassion and understanding - in recruitment we know that not every candidate is going to be successful on the first try. Being able to cultivate an ongoing relationship, offering support through tough markets, advising on opportunities and providing genuinely constructive feedback is not only the decent thing to do when handling someone's career but it's not uncommon for candidates to convert to clients down the line. Real relationships = more business. 📈 Strategic and experience led consultations - the best Recruiter Client relationships are those built on mutual trust and deep understanding of the business goals. Often we are tasked with consulting on short and long term strategy, navigating complex hiring situations (again, this is real people are are working with), and managing multiple stakeholder relationships. This isn't to say that AI has no place in recruitment, if we can understand how to leverage it to save time and boost productivity, we're all winning. I don't think it's necessary to view this as a contest, rather a best of both worlds! I fear that eliminating humans from the equation could lead to some quick wins but lots of issues down the road. In regards to the cost involved, it's nothing new that budgets are tight and cuts often affect TA. Whilst there are solutions to mitigate this, people are the building blocks to a successful business and it's worth investing in them! Zero pushy sales tactics When I clicked on the signature to verify the recruiting firm, it led to an AI recruiting platform doing mass personalized outreach on autopilot. Think about this: Massive firms like Michael Page built entire businesses around having recruiters manually do this exact work - they employ thousands of people to write emails, research candidates, and make connections. All of that manual work is about to be automated. Not just the outreach - AI is already starting to handle: - Candidate sourcing - Initial screening - Role matching - Interview scheduling - Assessments For founders, this means access to sophisticated recruiting tools without the massive fees traditional firms charge. Personally, I would love this to work. My experience with recruiting agencies has been 90% of the times terrible and they are crazy expensive.
