Our Story begins with the decision of three women of color, all United States veterans, to launch a nonprofit organization in New Jersey. Our focus is on critical issues such as sexual and domestic violence, veteran affairs, and trauma recovery. Driven by our unique personal experiences and professional backgrounds, we recognized an unmet need within underserved and marginalized communities. With over 35 years of combined experience, we bring a wealth of knowledge, insight, and empathy to this initiative. Our reasons are rooted in: Personal Experience and Empathy: Our journeys inspire us to help others. Professional Expertise: Leveraging our skills to make a difference. Recognition of a Service Gap: Addressing unmet needs in our communities. Empowerment through Representation: Ensuring every voice is heard. Commitment to Change: Driving meaningful impact. Building Community and Resilience: Strengthening and supporting each other. Join us in creating a future where every individual can thrive. 🌟 #sexualassaultawareness #domesticviolence #nonprofit #sextraffickingawareness #healingjourney #veteranowned #trapa #domesticviolencesurvivor #domesticviolence

Here at #SerenityAndGraceHealthcare we value you! Baltimore's strength has always been its people, and there's no denying that fact! Black families are the backbone of this city, but far too many are struggling with homelessness. We can't talk about Black empowerment without addressing the crisis of unhoused families. Housing instability disproportionately affects Black Baltimoreans, perpetuating cycles of poverty and limiting opportunities. What can we do? Amplify Black voices: Support organizations led by Black Baltimoreans who are working on solutions. Advocate for change: Demand that policymakers prioritize affordable housing initiatives that address racial disparities. Give back: Volunteer or donate to organizations that provide critical services to unhoused families. Together, we can empower Baltimore's Black community by ensuring that every family has a safe and stable place to call home. #BlackEmpowerment #Baltimore #HousingJustice

(Content warning: Discussion of Gender-Based Violence.) All the women in my family are survivors of gender-based violence. The perpetrators were our own relatives. Our teachers. Our friends. Our partners. Our ex-partners. Our bosses. Our colleagues. Our board members. Every time I think about this, I get a sick feeling at the pit of my stomach. When will enough be enough? We live in a world where women lead despite all the odds being against us. Women lead despite the fact that: ⏰ 5 women or girls are killed every hour by someone in their family; 💔 26% of women aged 15 and older have been subjected to intimate partner violence; 🙋🏻♀️ Only less than 40% of women who have experienced violence seek help; and 🌈 For the LGBTQIA+ community, Indigenous women, ethnic minorities, migrants and refugees, and women and girls living with disabilities — these figures are much worse. When will we live in a world where women lead because we are safe to do so? When will we live in a world where women leaders thrive, because our relatives, our teachers, our friends, our partners, our ex-partners, our bosses, our colleagues and our board members, all back us to succeed? From November 25 to December 10, Wedu stands in solidarity for the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence by raising awareness about it, challenging existing societal norms, and calling on our decision-makers to address such fundamental violations to human rights. Once again, Wedu calls on you to donate to support the work of organisations like ours, which enable women leaders to take up the space we all so rightfully deserve. https://lnkd.in/gt_fNeHc #RiseTogether #LeadwithWedu #InvestinWomen #OrangeTheWorld #16days

Uncovering the Truth: Missing Native American Women. There has been an effort to locate Native Americans whose bodies were disposed of in landfills. This situation mirrors events depicted in TV shows like Yellowstone, where tribal women are kidnapped, murdered, and discarded on tribal lands. A nonprofit organization is actively involved in searching for missing individuals, using dogs to assist in the search, which sometimes leads to the discovery of deceased individuals. #NativeAmericanRights #MMIW #MissingAndMurdered #TribalLands #NonprofitWork #SearchAndRescue #IndigenousWomen #JusticeForIndigenous #ProtectNativeWomen #LandfillSearch #IndigenousLivesMatter #RaiseAwareness #EndViolence #SupportIndigenousCommunities #FindTheMissing

📣 According to a Gallup poll conducted in 2020, only 19% of Black Americans expressed a "great deal" or "quite a lot" of confidence in the police, compared to 56% of White Americans. We empower youth and provide resources to overcome these challenges. Support our mission by making a donation and fostering a more equitable relationship between young people and law enforcement. 💪🌟 For more information on how we are working towards building trust and bridging the gap, check out the first comment. #SupportYouth #Empowerment #CommunityEngagement #LawEnforcement #Equity #PoliceConfidence

Important opinion piece for all social service NPO's: worth the read!
"The national economic cost of domestic and family violence is estimated at more than $12 billion a year. But in 2020, the most recent year for which data is available, family and gender-based violence organizations received just $1.3 billion in philanthropic dollars. That’s less than 1 percent of the $88.55 billion spent in foundation grant making that same year." https://lnkd.in/e-KdNA4Z

🏡 Urgent Call for Community Support 🏡 Good morning, friends and supporters! Today, I want to address a critical challenge that many women we serve are facing: securing safe, affordable housing in Colorado. 🌄🏠 The journey out of incarceration is daunting, and without a stable home, many women find themselves in a cycle that leads back to prison. Housing is more than just a shelter; it’s a foundation for safety, dignity, and a new start. Unfortunately, recidivism in Colorado is at an all-time high, largely due to the lack of accessible housing options for those with a record. This needs to change. 🔄💔 Here's the stark reality: Returning to unsafe, toxic environments not only compromises their safety but also impedes their progress. Fear and anxiety from unstable living conditions can drive our brave women back to the very places we strive to help them leave behind. 🚫🔄 We are committed to breaking this cycle by ensuring every woman has the opportunity to lay her head down in a place that feels like home—a place where they can feel secure and rebuild their lives. 🛌🌟 We need your help: In the coming weeks, we’ll be launching a campaign where even as little as $10 can make a big difference. 💵❤ Every donation helps us move closer to providing the stable, safe housing that is so desperately needed. Let’s come together to support these courageous women in creating a hopeful, sustainable future. Stay tuned for more details on how you can help. Together, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of those looking to turn a new page. 📘🙌 Thank you for your continued support and generosity. Every bit helps, and every contribution brings us one step closer to a solution. #SupportReentry #SafeHousing #CommunitySupport #AwakenYourLioness #TerryDeAragon #HelpUsHelpOthers #EndRecidivism #RebuildLives #EveryDollarCounts
