🌟 Three years ago, I attended the Badass Business Summit in Fort Worth, Texas, not knowing what to expect and not fully understanding the impact it would have. Ironically, my younger brother, Donnie Boivin, is the CEO and Founder of Success Champions Networking (SCN) and the mastermind behind the Badass Business Summit. Despite this, I had little idea about his work or the essence of his company, thinking he simply worked with small business owners. So, what have I learnt in the last year of running my business? 🤔 As JJR Event Planning celebrates its first anniversary, I’ve had the opportunity to reflect on the incredible journey over the last 12 months, and what it has taught me. Here are some of the most important things I’ve learned: 💡 Resilience is key: Building a business from the ground up requires not just strategy, but self-belief and persistence - just keep showing up. 🎯 The power of human connection: Whether it's clients, colleagues or vendors, building genuine, trusted connections has been key. I’ve seen firsthand that strong relationships not only lead to great events but also how beneficial they are for longer-term collaborations and overall enjoying everyday so much more! ⚡ Trust in your knowledge and experience: Every event so far has pushed me to think outside the box, solve new challenges, and deliver unique experiences - and I've realised that with the right mindset, there is no limit to what you do 🚀 📈 Growth is a process: This year has shown me that growth - both personally and professionally - takes time, patience, and hard work. But the milestones, no matter how small you feel they may be, are worth celebrating! Celebrate your wins, and do not get caught up in the vicious cycle of comparison. You cannot compare your day 1 to another persons day 1000 📝 ✨ Self-belief is crucial: The amount of work I’ve had to on myself this past year is something that I didn’t expect AT ALL! You have to be your own number one fan - I’ve had to constantly tell myself that I’m capable of achieving what I set out to do. That daily reminder keeps me moving forward, even when challenges arise. It’s been an incredible year of growth, learning, and plenty of challenges, but I wouldn’t change a thing. Had the huge honor to meet the amazing Natalie Evie last week! 🙏 Natalie is a fantastic entrepreneur, Corporate Trainer and Leadership Coach, Keynote Speaker, and Life Mentor. Connect with her if you haven't already, she shares so much value for managers, people in leadership positions, and honestly just any professional who is serious about self-improvement, self-development, and self-discovery. Today's post is a little different from what I normally do, but it's an important one that Natalie reminded me of. Always be networking. Meet new people. Reach out and don't "wait" for opportunities to come knocking at your door (that's not how life works). CREATE your own opportunities. CREATE value for others. CREATE and DESIGN the life you want to live. If you already have access to the internet, LinkedIn, and have enough time to read a post like this and scroll on LinkedIn, You're already far more fortunate than so many people on this planet and are equipped with so many precious opportunities and tools to: - Connect with amazing people - Network with leaders and decision-makers across so many industries - Build a community and audience who will invest in your mission - Create an online business, online services, and or digital products Especially with great tools like LinkedIn that instantly break down so many previously existing barriers like location and connections, It's more doable than ever to successfully do these things. Sure, a good location and connection definitely help in one's life journey, But tools like LinkedIn make them less relevant today than 10-20 years ago. And it's thanks to tools like these that I was able to meet Natalie. She inspires me to keep building, stay focused on the mission, and keep meeting fellow entrepreneurs every few weeks. Meeting a fellow online entrepreneur every month or so online via a quick 15-30 minute Zoom call is one of my priorities for my business, why? It helps me learn from others who are on the same journey as myself. It helps me learn from their successes. It helps me learn where I can do better and optimize my own business and life. Very grateful for the journey. And for all of you reading today's post, Don't underestimate the power of the tools you already have in your hands right now, There's so much you can accomplish if you put your mind to it. You can use the tools at our disposal to consume, You can also use these very same tools to create. The choice is yours.
