Hey ladies…. Playing nice doesn’t get women where they want to be. Meanwhile, it’s still an expectation on women. Every single day. Be nice…what does this mean? As a CMgr with CIM | Chartered Managers Canada I know that being nice doesn’t sit around a board meeting table, and, this isn’t taught via formal education., fyi. Last week I learned about a board that behaves in strange ways. Cloaks of secrecy exists. Ethics are questioned. Transparency doesn’t exist. The CEO controls the board and sits as an ex officio to maintain that control. The CEO refuses to receive instruction from the board. Historically the VP succeeds to President provided it not a female who’s next in succession. Then it can jump to the next male instead. The CEO denied the board the vote count. As a woman would you want to be part of this group? For me, it’s a hard, NO! My suggestion for all the strong women that I know. Reach out to Harriette Schumacher, MA, MCC and book a call. If you’re a man on that board I’m mentioning, and recognize yourself in my post…Reach out to Harriette Schumacher, MA, MCC and book a call. Give yourself a gift this holiday season! #kindnotnice #ethics #equitable #dei #executivecoaching #cim #womencsuite
I put women in the C-suite | North America’s Top no B.S. Executive Coach for advancing women into executive leadership.
What do you think? Now that you know the difference between "being nice" and claiming what’s yours, what will you do differently tomorrow? Book a call to talk about Executive Coaching.
That board is so chauvinistic ! Would want nothing to do with it.
