Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies (CER) CER Manifesto 'On Track For Europe' 2024-2029 The Manifesto outlines the CER vision for well-functioning rail passenger and freight services, as well as for a high-capacity rail infrastructure, with the objective of pursuing the modal shift and modal share objectives of the EU Strategy for Smart and Sustainable Mobility and accelerating Europe’s green and digital transitions.

I'm here at day 2 of the interesting Transport Australia Conference. So, full disclosure, I came here with an intention of focussing on the decarbonisation of transport technologies, integrating power networks with road and rail, but there's been other things that have grabbed me. Biggest one being, that there seems to be an opportunity to make life easier for project delivery managers, and improve the effectiveness of transport projects by suporting decision makers. For those not familiar with systems thinking, it provides an approach to understand and model what interfaces exist and how to integrate with them - for example, between a new transport project and the health, education, business and leisure facilities. For those delivering projects, it can provide much clarity on what is really needed from a project, how well a design will meet those needs, and provides a route to getting evidence when the commissioned actually meets those needs.
