Too much of sales is surface level. To be successful sellers need to be go deeper. Deeper thinking, deeper questioning, deeper discovery and deeper connection with the prospect. A recent episode of the Revenue Builders Podcast with Richard Riveria shares some valuable insights on creating emotional connections with prospects. Here are my five key takeaways from the episode ⬇ 1️⃣ Understand the buyer decision path - the buyer decision path, which includes survival, thrive, and think stages. Recognising these stages helps you to tailor your approach to better connect emotionally with prospects. 2️⃣ Disarm the survival brain - before engaging prospects intellectually, it’s crucial to address their immediate concerns and problems. This helps disarm their survival instincts, making them more open to your message. 3️⃣ Be curious - successful salespeople exhibit genuine curiosity about their buyers' opinions and challenges. By asking thoughtful questions and showing true interest, you will build stronger emotional connections. 4️⃣ Keep conversations going - when faced with objections, the key is to keep the conversation going. Understanding the reasons behind objections and addressing them thoughtfully can turn potential rejections into opportunities for deeper engagement. 5️⃣ Prioritise emotional connection - establishing an emotional connection should precede the intellectual discussion of your value proposition. This strategy helps in building trust and rapport, which are essential for success. Try these out if you want to create more meaningful and impactful interactions with your prospects. I still see SO SO MANY salespeople doing these things..... 🤒 Asking for meetings without giving any value Trying to sell on the 1st call Not taking no for an answer Following up multiple times in the same day or week Talking people into submission Saying you've met before when you haven't Cutting voicemail messages short intentionally Cornering prospects Creating fake urgency The list goes on..... They think that these methods still work. They use these Old School Sales Techniques to try to get people to buy. 🤮 But do they REALLY work? Or do they give others in Sales a bad name and damage the perception of sales and selling in general? Have a listen to this week's podcast and see what I think although if you know me and my approach you won't be surprised to know what I think to these methods 🙁 What are some of the WORST methods of selling you have seen or that have been used on you? How did you feel when someone did this to you? Was there any part of you that 'admired' their skill or approach to get the result? Would love to hear some of the worst stories for a new video I am recording next week on this! Come on, hit me with some of the worst stuff you have seen! 🙂 #sales #businessdevelopment #salesplan #salesfails #salesgrowth #winning #salespeople #salesreputation

I recently had a chat with Wesleyne Whittaker on the Transformed Sales podcast where we spoke about the significance of having a well-defined sales process that is not dependent on individual salespeople. Podcast Highlights 🥉 Your process must focus on equipping reps with the messaging and skills to communicate value in every customer conversation. Each interaction should create a distinctive buying experience. 🥉Authenticity and engaging sales techniques are crucial for success in the sales industry. 🥉 Embracing your true self and not compromising your identity is important, especially in male-dominated fields. 🥉 Having a well-defined sales process that is not dependent on individual salespeople is essential for long-term success. 🥉 Documenting processes and focusing on incremental improvements can lead to sustainable growth. 🥉 Taking risks and trusting in one’s abilities is necessary for personal and professional growth. Your business is one step away from failing... If you don’t have a sales process that produces results. Without a repeatable sales process, business will be chaotic and can never drive consistent results. You cant implement bits and pieces once in a blue and expect to see continuous results. Don’t let the great work you do slip into abyss. For every successful organization Process Dependent NOT People Dependent is a Major 🔑 . Having a repeatable sales process can help make growth and success more scalable. Documenting internal processes is not enough. Create a repeatable sales process to 1️⃣ Add structure and accountability to sales activities, leading to a higher win rate and shorter sales cycle. 2️⃣ Equip reps with the messaging and skills to communicate value in every customer interaction. 3️⃣ Provide discipline and prevent the team from frantically chasing after leads and prospects hoping they will convert to sales. Your process must focus on equipping reps with the messaging and skills to communicate value in every customer conversation. Each interaction should create a distinctive buying experience. I recently had a chat with Kaivona Parker on the Transformed Sales podcast. Kaivona Parker shares her journey from wearing a hard hat in the industrial sector to being dubbed as the most un-boring in the tech sales industry. She highlights the significance of having a well-defined sales process that is not dependent on individual salespeople, and emphasizes the need for documenting processes and focusing on incremental improvements.
