🚀 Just stumbled upon this mind-blowing article about Screwfix's ecommerce strategy! Amazed 🤯 but not surprised... Let me just say Deliveroo for a sec... more about that further down... Screwfix has truly redefined what it means to be an omnichannel retailer in the digital era. 🛠️ From starting as a humble mail-order business in the '70s 👴 to now having over 900 stores across the UK and Ireland, they've mastered the art of delivering convenience to their customers. 💪 What's even more impressive is their seamless transition to online dominance. Ecommerce now accounts for a crazy 60% of their total sales, compared to just 33% before the pandemic hit. Talk about adapting to the times! 📈 🥾 But here's the real kicker: Screwfix's mobile sales and app make up over 65% of their digital sales, and a whopping 80% of orders are picked up through their click-and-collect service. That's what I call catering to the needs of busy trade professionals on the go! 🚚 and that is where ALL online stores need to focus on. So when you're wondering why your online dominance can't beat the big boys, take a leaf out of their book... And they're not stopping there by the looks of it. Screwfix is doubling down on convenience by expanding its delivery services and partnering with Deliveroo (YES DELIVEROO) to offer an impressive range of products through their app. Who would've thought you could get your DIY essentials delivered to your doorstep with your favorite food? 🍔 Gamechanger? But it doesn't end with convenience as Screwfix is also investing in revamping their digital presence, making its website faster and more user-friendly. They're utilising some form of cutting-edge machine learning and AI technology to personalise the shopping experience for their customers. It's going to be like having your own personal shopping assistant! 🤖 If you're as blown away as I am by Screwfix's ecommerce journey, don't take my word for it, READ: Article thanks to Retail Week (I read religiously)... https://lnkd.in/egCaKpDw Kudos to Screwfix for setting the bar so high! 👏 #EcommerceExcellence #DigitalAgencyLife #ScrewfixSuccessStory #RetailRevolution Share

🤯Challenges Faced by Restaurants & D2C businesses when listing on Marketplaces & How Their Own Online Ordering Technology Can Help 🚀 Many restaurants & D2C turn to marketplaces for online orders, but this comes with significant challenges: 🚫 High Commissions: Marketplaces charge steep fees (often 20-30% per order), which eat into already thin margins. 🚫 Lack of Customer Ownership: Restaurants & D2C lose direct relationships with customers and valuable data that could fuel loyalty programs and personalized offers. 🚫 Limited Branding: Restaurants & D2C are often just one option among many, with little control over how their brand is presented. 🚫 Delivery Control Issues: Relying on third-party delivery services can lead to delays, mistakes, and poor customer experiences that reflect negatively on the restaurant. 🚫 Profitability Pressure: Higher costs and marketplace dependency make it harder to maintain profitability and control business growth. 💡 How your Online ordering platform can help 🔥 ✅ Lower Costs: No more hefty marketplace commissions—keep more of your revenue💰 ✅ Automated Ordering: Streamline your operations with an online ordering system that integrates with your POS, reduces errors, and speeds up order processing. ✅ Customer Data Ownership: Build direct relationships, foster loyalty, and leverage data for personalized marketing. ✅ Brand Control: Create a seamless and customized experience that reflects your brand’s identity. ✅ Enhance Customer Experience: Provide real-time order tracking, smooth digital payment options, and personalized offers to keep your customers coming back. ✅ Increase Efficiency & Profitability: Use tech solutions like delivery integration, inventory management, and digital marketing to reduce costs and boost margins. It’s time to stop losing profits and start building stronger, direct relationships with your customers☺️ Investing in your own ordering platform isn’t just about efficiency—it’s about taking control of your business’s future. 🚀 Curious about how this works? 🔥 Let’s chat? 𝗔𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗼𝗻'𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗿𝘂𝗯𝗵𝘂𝗯+ 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗼𝘆𝗮𝗹𝘁𝘆 I just saw the news about Amazon’s strategic integration of Grubhub+ into its Prime membership today; because Shoptalk Europe was so engaging, I didn't have a chance to catch up with the industry news last week. I believe this partnership between Amazon and Grubhub epitomizes the ongoing convergence of retail, eCommerce and #foodservice sectors, presenting several strategic implications and opportunities for CPG brands: 💡Can we all agree that Amazon's move to embed Grubhub+ as a permanent benefit for Prime members is a masterstroke in customer retention and engagement? By offering unlimited $0 delivery fees, exclusive savings, and seamless access directly from Amazon's platforms, Amazon not only enhances the value of its Prime membership but also sets a new standard in customer convenience and loyalty. 💡I'm not sure if your company expands eCommerce horizons, because Amazon certainly does. The blurring lines between traditional #retail, eCommerce, and food service through such partnerships expand the eCommerce horizons dramatically. As Amazon leverages its massive reach and platform capabilities to include food delivery, it creates a more comprehensive ecosystem that can cater to a wider range of consumer needs in one place. This could mean reconsidering how products are positioned and sold across these multi-faceted platforms for #CPG #brands, particularly those in the food and beverage sector. 💡I talk a lot about hyper-personalization, and you need data for that. Integrating Grubhub+ into Amazon Prime offers profound data insights into consumer preferences and behaviors, bridging the gap between how consumers shop for goods and order food. With access to both data sets, Amazon can offer hyper-personalized recommendations and promotions. For CPG brands, the lesson is clear but not an easy one: leveragng data to understand and predict consumer behaviors can drive more tailored marketing strategies, enhance product development, and ultimately, improve sales performance. 💡I call this strategic value of innovative collaborations to unlock new customer segments and markets. CPG brands should look towards such collaborations that can bring together complementary strengths, be it in logistics, product offering, or market reach, to innovate and capture value in ways that would be challenging independently. ++ 🔭 Looking Ahead ++ 📍CPGs should consider investing in partnerships with major eCommerce platforms to tap into their expansive ecosystems. Brands should also explore developing their own direct-to-consumer (#DTC) channels or enhancing existing ones with unique value propositions. 📍Furthermore, brands must harness data analytics more effectively to drive decisions and stay competitive in a landscape increasingly dominated by tech-savvy giants like Amazon. #ecommerce #ecommert #amazon #quickcommerce #lastmiledelivery

Glovo is spicing up its food delivery (and it’s not just about the food) The company is starting to roll out a bundle of social features in their #app that let users share orders with friends, follow each other, recommend fav places and dishes, scroll the TikTok-like feed of food prep videos uploaded by restaurant partners and more. Why does this matter? Adding a social layer helps to create connections, and that’s where real customer engagement comes from. This is actually a smart example. Other #ecommerce businesses should take note — whether it’s fashion, beauty, electronics, etc. — adding social features can enhance customer loyalty, spark conversations, and turn casual shoppers into repeat customers. Want to keep your customers coming back? Focus on engagement, not just conversions. And the tech is always there to make it happen ✨
