Introducing the Conscious Evolution Collage, facilitated by Heather Lynch and Nikki Kapp at #Freskival this Friday morning. The Conscious Evolution Collage is a collaborative and creative game designed to help you understand and address the complex sustainability challenges of the 21st century. Through this workshop based on New World Together transdisciplinary research findings, you will access breakthrough knowledge and innovative ways of thinking, that can empower and enlighten you. Work as a team with different sets of cards containing key information about the global sustainability challenges, their hidden root causes, and their solutions. Your mission is to use your individual and collective intelligence to connect the dots and organize the cards to have a clear picture that allows you to: 🫧 Adopt a systemic approach: Break the silos to grasp the interrelated challenges of sustainability as a whole together with their fundamental causes. 👁️ Deepen your understanding: Recognize unsustainable behavior patterns, their past origins, their root causes, and how they are perpetuated below our level of awareness. 🧭 Find a pathway: Discover what we need to nurture and change in order to find a pathway toward the “better world our hearts know is possible”. What I 💚 LOVE 💚 about the Conscious Evolution Collage is that: -🔗 It covers ALL the global issues we face and looks at what is at the root of them all - it takes a systemic approach, looking at the interconnectedness of all issues - 'the metacrisis' -🧠🕰️ It explores the psychological reasons behind why we are facing a metacrisis and explores humanity's past to explain how our past fears are resulting in the issues we face today - it helps us understand why things are as they are - 🌱💚It offers a desirable, realistic and sustainable path towards a better future where all beings can thrive - and where we understand what we need to learn and how we need to evolve as individuals to be part of the change we want to create - 👤 🙏 It focuses on the individual change each of us can make and shows how that can ladder up to systemic change - I came away from the workshop feeling empowered and hopeful because I felt agency to contribute to the type of future I want to create - 🌌💭It creates space for the emotional processing of the information and invites us all to bring conscious awareness to our experience - the nature of the topics means the workshop kindly invites us to reflect on our own levels of consciousness and how aware we are of the patterns and mental models, within us and collectively, that have created our world. We are bringing back artefacts from a fair and sustainable future.   I loved last week's Sustainability Accelerator Unconference at Chatham House. It was a bold, caring and hopeful event where we looked at what a fair and sustainable future looks like and what it would take to transition towards it. My session was loosely inspired by the #futuresthinking approach "#Afrorithms from the Future”. I invited the participants to reclaim their #IndependentThinking and embrace their imagination. We used three steps: 1- TENSIONS We leapt into the future, listed and discussed as many “Tensions” of the time. We realised that everyone had different ideas, nuances and assumptions about important things like stress, pollution, violence, disposable resources, race… 2-INTERSECTIONS Each participant then gave 2 points to the tensions they found most drawn to. The majority chose: Axis X: more Earth Time (nature time prevails and "manages us" more than clock time) Axis Y: less violence (felt, perceived, seen, statistical or managed…) 3-ARTEFACTS We stopped at the intersection of these tensions and created artefacts. These included: " An Earth clock that helps us live and harmonise through Earth time not clock time" " A mask that connects us to our ancestors' wisdom" " A formalised fair and peaceful interface to make decisions" " Boxing gloves that protect and comfort" " A moneyless society based on trust, interdependence and inclusion" " Songlines that reduce violence and help us live in harmony with nature"   🎨 Check these artefacts (loosely interpreted) in the film below. 😃 Over to you! - What name would you give them? - What do they evoke? - If you were to use them today in 2024, what would you accomplish? - Are they reassuring, or triggering? Going down the sustainability route for a fashion business (any business to be honest) is both difficult and expensive and the path is even more challenging if you consider that our current system makes it easier to drain resources, neglect negative externalities, overproduce and treat workers poorly. In addition to this, we live in times of VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity) with unstable economies, transforming societies and a fast-changing climate. This global situation calls for bold actions, and courage is the foundation of such actions. Every expedition begins with courage. Navigating the modern sustainability debate is like an expedition into unexplored terrain. But courage exists in our small actions as well, such as implementing sustainable practices and sticking with them. Happy to have shared with Temera my stories and my philosophy.

Fabrice Leclerc emphasized on the importance of allowing the planet and our bodies to regenerate. Just as stressing the planet and society should be avoided, giving bodies time to recover and rejuvenate is essential. One of the key takeaways was the idea of investing in #nature. Nature, described as a technology billions of years in the making, stands as the most advanced system to learn from and draw inspiration.
