We set an agenda for all meetings/calls. While it seems simple enough, we often skip this important behavior. Meetings just go more smoothly when everyone is on the same page about what’s going to happen. Sort of like when the dentist tells you what he’s going to do before he does it. That’s always better than when he crams his hands into your mouth without warning.   Helpful stuff to ask prior to a meeting: Is there an agenda? Is the objective of the meeting clear? Is advance preparation completed or a pre-read sent out? Did the meeting start on time? Is the length of the meeting appropriate? Does the meeting have the right attendees?
