What if I told you… the event planner or coordinator you hired actually knows what they’re doing and there’s no need to tell them how to do their job. The reason you invested in their service is because you didn’t have: 1. The time 2. The know how 3. Both Give them the space to get it done. Micromanaging will actually slow down their pace. But! 💫Stay present in process 💫Be clear on what you desire for and out of the event 💫Remain accessible to answer the questions they will have 💫Action the deliverables they cannot do and require you to do. They shouldn’t want the success of your event more than you. ☺️ They want to celebrate it with you! (P.S. This applies to professionals and not someone doing the job as a favour)

Last week I was lucky enough to attend (digitally) a fascinating agency roundtable, orgainsed by the brilliant Remeny Armitage Royle with Alex Blondin. The subject was around building stronger relationships with clients by becoming a more strategic partner. So, really powerful stuff! From the outset the discussion was really thought-provoking, and the break-out sessions were as fun as they were illuminating. The roundtable was well chaired by both Remeny and Alex and it was great that it was so well attended by such a big range of agency types. There was definitely a lot of food for thought. A few key take outs: - make sure clients are aware of all your services - plan in regular check-in meetings - check client briefs against their strategic objectives - be proactive and accountable - don't try to fix everything (at once) And, of course, one crucial reminder; if you can't do it yourself ask an expert (such as Remeny) to do it for you! I'm really looking froward to attending more of these!
