🔹 From Redundancy to Entrepreneurship and Back To Work: My Cheesecake Fuelled Journey 🔹 2 months ago, I found myself unexpectedly facing redundancy. It was a daunting moment, but it sparked a fire within me to explore new opportunities and embrace change. Instead of letting the uncertainty consume me, I decided to take matters into my own hands. With a passion for tasty food and a love for all things cheesecake, I embarked on a journey to turn my hobby into a business. Armed with determination and a secret recipe, I launched my small venture from the comfort of my own kitchen. The response was overwhelming, with friends and family eagerly indulging in my delicious creations. Fast forward to today, and I'm thrilled to share that not only have I successfully launched my cheesecake business, but I've also recently started a new chapter in my career journey. As well, my first two weeks at my new job have been brilliant, filled with exciting challenges and opportunities for growth. Balancing running a small business with being a working mum has its challenges, but it's also incredibly fulfilling. It requires careful time management, prioritization, and sometimes asking for help. Setting boundaries and establishing a support system are essential, whether it's enlisting family members for assistance or leveraging technology to streamline processes. Ultimately, it's about finding harmony between pursuing your passion, nurturing your family, and excelling in your career. As I continue to navigate this journey, I'm grateful for the support of my family, friends, and colleagues who have stood by me every step of the way. To anyone facing adversity or contemplating a leap of faith, remember that every challenge is an opportunity in disguise. I've never spoken much about Brand Therapy before, but it’s something that remains so close to my heart. Starting a company at 22 and navigating it through the chaos of the pandemic with Ridhima Chatterjee and Mahalakshmi Maahi by my side was an experience mixed with excitement and challenges. That time when I did not pay attention to the client briefing and faced a failure that affected me a lot in the past! It was two years ago that I faced one of the most challenging moments in my career as a #socialmedia marketer. After investing months of hard work into a major campaign and building content strategy, the results were not just underwhelming but they turned out to be a complete flop. The engagement was low, conversions were nearly nonexistent, and our client was understandably disappointed. The seniors at my workplace who always admired my work, I felt to had lost their trust. I failed! I felt like a #failure. How could something I poured my heart and soul into fall so flat? I questioned my skills, my strategies, and my decisions. It was a tough pill to swallow, and the restless me started worrying about my career ahead. A few days later, a disappointed me was sitting in the office, glaring at my desktop when the founder of my company arrived. He must have noticed me to be visibly sad, so he approached me. After some hesitation, when I opened up my thoughts to him, he beamed. He then narrated to me how he failed as an #entrepreneur 3 times, before building a steady profitable company. Something changed in me! Instead of letting this setback define me, I decided to use it as a learning opportunity. I gathered my team, and we did a thorough post-mortem analysis. We scrutinized every detail, identified where we went wrong, and brainstormed ways to avoid these pitfalls in the future. One of the key issues was a misalignment with our target audience's preferences, a mistake that highlighted the importance of continuous #marketresearch and flexibility in the strategy I devise. This failure taught me how resilience, adaptability, and the power of a #growthmindset can shape you. Today, I can proudly tell that this experience has made me a more effective and empathetic #marketer. It reminded me that your self-confidence is synonymous with your hard work. Most of the time humble pie is sour but this one was gourmet 🍰 Ever since I claimed full responsibility for my personal journey, I understood the urge for challenges if I ever wanted to get somewhere. I’ve been trying to push myself out of the comfort zone ever since. Yet, at some point I caught the rut and found myself getting too cozy with my social circle and life at large. Yeah, I didn’t really like where that was heading. A change was mandatory. On my quest for new challenges, I bumped into a Kilo Health incubator ad. Signed up right away, received an email with an instruction to file a business pitch video within the next 72 hours. Filmed, filed, interview with HR and boom I am one of the 25 participants selected from 500+ registrations. It was an exciting adventure: team up 👥, brainstorm a startup idea 💡, and then bring it to life with a convincing pitch to the sharks. 🚀 My team and I learned a lot, even though we didn't get as far as we hoped. It was a real lesson in unity, leadership, and shared vision. Every challenge taught us something valuable, setting us up for success next time. What made some teams stand out and advance in the competition? This experience highlighted that success hinges on the power of collaboration, the spark of innovation from diverse perspectives, and the relentless pursuit of turning ideas into reality. Let’s not forget the timeless grind and continuous learning these guys were putting prior the challenge in their every day life. Here I am taking away a good example of how things should be done. 📚 Reflecting on this journey, I am filled with gratitude. A Birthday, a New Year, and a New Me 💥 Yesterday, I celebrated my birthday surrounded by loved ones – family, friends, and amazing colleagues. It was a day filled with laughter, joy, and reflection. 🎉😇 🙄 As I look back on the past year, I’ve realized that I’ve been holding myself back by doubting my abilities. - I was sacred to take risk - I was waited for the perfect moment (which will never come) But I’ve also made significant strides. 🌼 - I transitioned into a social media executive role at Edvoy. - Expanded my professional network - Developed a more analytical mindset. It was a great opportunity to reflect on the past year and set my intentions for the coming one. With this newfound perspective, I’m ready to embrace the new year with renewed vigor. When I told people I was quitting my stable corporate job to start a branding agency, they looked at me like I was certifiable crazy. "That’s crazy!" - "It will never work..." - "You're throwing your career away!" Their doubt fueled my fire. I knew that playing it safe would suffocate my purpose. The world needed what Aman Kumar Singh Rathore and I envisioned - Marcadors - an agency to empower changemakers. In those early days, we embraced our "crazy." Crazy meant we weren't afraid to challenge assumptions. Crazy meant we turned obstacles into opportunities for innovation. Crazy meant we wholeheartedly believed in our mission, even when others called us naive. Now, two plus years in, our once considered "crazy" ideals have become our superpower. We've worked with incredible purpose-driven brands, shifting perspectives through strategic storytelling. Our unconventional campaigns spark conversations that matter. Of course, we still have critics. But their skepticism reminds us how vital it is to keep disrupting the status quo. Complacency is the enemy of change. In 2019, I made one of the toughest decisions of my life: I quit my comfortable job in a toxic environment without a clear backup plan.  Less than a month later, I landed a better role.  Then came 2020.
