Embracing Sweden’s Green Transition 🇸🇪 🏴 🇪🇺 The green transition happening in Sweden has been nothing short of transformative for individuals like me, who have found incredible opportunities as a result. After leaving the UK, where Scotland’s desire to remain in the EU was overruled, I sought out a place that aligned with my values and career aspirations. Sweden has been that place.Sweden, with its ambitious green initiatives, has welcomed people from all walks of life, offering a pathway not just to work, but to contribute meaningfully to a brighter future. Companies like Northvolt and Stegra, which are playing pivotal roles in this transition, have given many of us the chance to be part of something truly impactful. While they have faced a lot criticism from some journalists, those of us working here see firsthand the progress and dedication going into building a sustainable future. I am immensely grateful to Sweden for the opportunities they’ve provided. The chance to work in high-risk sectors on some of the most exciting construction projects in Europe. This has allowed me to use my experience to contribute to Sweden's transition. It’s time for more people to recognize and support Sweden’s green transition. For those of us here, we’re not just working—we’re contributing to a future that will benefit everyone, and that’s something worth celebrating 🥂

📢 We, at Movin’On, wish to reiterate our commitment to the decarbonisation of European mobility while supporting long-term competitiveness. By 2030, we, together—citizens, elected officials, and businesses—have an historic responsibility to implement all that is necessary to reach the European goal of reducing net greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55%. We call for intensified collective action to speed up the deployment of sustainable mobility solutions that benefit all of society while staying environmentally friendly. The acceptability and accessibility of these solutions will be critical for genuine adoption. Convinced that no single actor can achieve this alone, six proposals have been defined collectively to enable the emergence and acceleration of solutions and behavioural changes for the decarbonisation of transport in Europe to be a true success story: 1 - Speed up the energy transition and the development of infrastructure. 2 - Create the regulatory space for a medium-sized electric vehicle. 3 - Promote the deployment of automated shuttles in rural and peri-urban areas. 4 - Accelerate intermodality and expand European green corridors. 5 - Build a Europe of skills and make it a matter of sovereignty. 6 - Harmonise the European regulatory framework to facilitate cross-border waste recycling. To realise our ambitions, we are inviting the new European political leaders to join us with our international experts and the Movin’On community at the Movin’On Summit, the International Summit on Sustainable Mobility, to be held on 7 November 2024 in Brussels: https://lnkd.in/em6Gmncs Together, we will identify concrete levers for action to make the decarbonisation of transport in Europe a reality. #ActWithMovinOn

The whole of Europe, with Northern Sweden at the forefront, represents an extremely important era towards a more sustainable society. I think it is more important than ever to show humility and listen to those who not only want to follow the development, but above all those who lead it and show the rest of the world that the transition from "the old" to "the new" is on the way. Regardless of whether it concerns a green steel mill or an electric scooter, the common denominator is towards a more sustainable world. Nobody can do everything but everyone can do something…We is facing a historic transition towards a fossil-free world and increased electrification. By embracing renewable energy such as solar, wind and water and investing in the electrification of the transport sector, industry and housing, we can reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and fight climate change. By cooperating across national borders, we can create a sustainable and competitive future for future generations. Within the logistics industry, we will also see major improvements. Pioneers in sustainable logistics for the modern era. Together, we can offer a dynamic approach to logistics, tailored to your needs while prioritizing environmental sustainability. Flexible solutions that adapt to "the new" ensuring seamless operation and optimized efficiency. With a commitment to sustainability, we use environmentally friendly methods, from using electric vehicles to reducing fossil fuels. Together towards flexible, green logistics💪🇸🇪🇫🇮

Our incredible team of 130 experts, supported by over 100 partners from all over the world, has made significant strides in reducing fleet energy demand, enabling green fuel use, developing green corridors, and influencing policy. Despite the challenges, our mission to share knowledge and empower the ecosystem remains steadfast. Here's to the journey so far and the exciting road ahead. It's always about the people 💙🌎💪⚓📚 #ZeroCarbonShipping #Sustainability #Decarbonization https://lnkd.in/dcrj8259 Mitsui & Co., Ltd., Alfa Laval, Topsoe, Sumitomo Corporation, NYK Line, CF Industries, A.P. Today is a special day to me 💙 It marks the four year anniversary of announcing the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping We launched in between COVID lock-downs, sincerely hoping that decarbonization was still relevant although the world was suffering a collective COVID shock. And while we, the team, the many many brilliant people involved, the A.P. Møller Fonden, the founding partners NYK Line, MAN Energy Solutions, Siemens, Cargill, A.P. Moller - Maersk, American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries had no real idea of what COVID might mean, they leaned in. I like to think because everyone felt it was the right thing to do. And in hindsight - it was more relevant than ever! 🌎 Four years down the line, I almost can not believe the platform we have created! 💪 130 people from a wide range of disciplines are giving 💯% of their working time to enable decarbonization⚓ and more than 100 partners collaborate to accelerate the transition through activities such as ⬇ Reducing fleet energy demand, 💧 enabling the safe use of green fuels such as Ammonia, 🌐 facilitating the development of green corridors, and by ⚖ supporting and influencing policy and initiatives to scale decarbonization. Since 2020, things have evolved much faster than anticipated, and the importance of the different drivers of change may have shifted. Seeing the pace of industry action, I firmly believe that the remaining technology related challenges will be solved shortly. Now, all eyes are on the IMO acknowledging that global regulation is key 🗝 And, while many things change, (at least) one core pillar of the center vision remains: We want to enable and empower the ecosystem to act by sharing, free of charge, our knowledge our blueprints, methodologies and playbooks 📚 The past 4 years have been crazy busy, frustrating, difficult and challenging. But its also been crazy fun and rewarding - thanks to the people, my colleagues, who have joined the ride. Its always about the people 💚 So many people where, has been and are involved... Tue Johannessen, Bo Cerup-Simonsen, Emma Mazhari, Michael Ritter Christiansen, Anja Andersen, Annette Stube, Palle Laursen, Anne H. Steffensen, Robert Maersk Uggla, Keith Dawe, George Wells, Aoife O'Leary, Tomoo Kuzu, Brian Østergaard Sørensen, Søren Helmuth Jensen, Takuya Matsumoto, Ole Graa Jakobsen, Georgios Plevrakis,MScEng,MBA, John McDonald, Peter Jonathan Jameson, Trine Filtenborg de Nully, Didde Welin Pilgaard, Tanja Ebbe Dalgaard, Claus Winter Graugaard, Torben Nørgaard, Sidsel Bromose, Mads Peter Zacho and the list continues... Giving the original launch movie a revival... 😁
