✨ Celebrating Diwali with Wellness in Mind! ✨ Diwali brings the joy of togetherness, lights, and delicious treats! But as we dive into festivities, let’s keep our health at the forefront. Here are some tips for a mindful, healthy Diwali: 1. Balance is Key: Enjoy sweets and treats, but in moderation. Try smaller portions to savor the flavor without overindulging. 2. Opt for Healthier Choices: Look for homemade treats made with natural sweeteners like jaggery, dates, or honey. Dry fruits and nuts can be great alternatives to sugar-laden snacks. 3. Stay Hydrated: With all the snacks around, it’s easy to forget water. Drinking plenty of water can help digestion and curb unnecessary snacking. 4. Mindful Eating: Take a moment to enjoy each bite. Eating slowly can prevent overeating and improve satisfaction. 5. Keep Moving: A post-meal walk, a light workout, or dancing with family can help manage calorie intake and keep the energy flowing! 6. Share the Joy, Not Just the Sweets: Diwali is about spreading happiness. Let’s focus on bonding with loved ones, sharing laughter, and lighting up our surroundings—no better way to fill up on joy than this! Enjoy Diwali to the fullest while staying mindful of your health. ✨ Smooth Transitions: Post-Diwali Tips for Balance and Renewal✨ Diwali brings joy and celebration, but returning to routine afterward can be challenging. Here are quick tips to help ease back into daily life with balance and renewed focus. ✅ Post-Festivity Exhaustion Challenge: After the high-energy celebrations, many feel physically and mentally drained, making it tough to get back into their daily routine. Tip: Give yourself a day or two to ease back in. Focus on restful activities, hydrate well, and gradually tackle your workload to regain energy without feeling overwhelmed. ✅ Financial Strain from Festive Expenses Challenge: Diwali expenses—gifts, shopping, and celebrations—often stretch budgets, leading to financial worry post-festival. Tip: To recover, plan a simple budget and cut back on non-essentials for a few weeks. This can ease the financial strain and help you return to a comfortable balance. ✅ Difficulty Reestablishing Routine Challenge: The break from regular routines can make it hard to get back to normal habits, whether it’s waking up early or focusing on work tasks. Tip: Ease in by prioritizing one habit at a time. Whether it’s exercise, reading, or work projects, focusing on small, consistent actions helps rebuild momentum. ✅ Increased Workload After Diwali Challenge: After Diwali, catching up on tasks or meeting year-end goals can feel overwhelming, especially after time off. Tip: Prioritize tasks by importance and tackle them one at a time. Setting small, achievable goals each day helps build momentum without adding stress. ✅ Health Setbacks from Festive Indulgence Challenge: Enjoying the festive sweets and rich foods often leads to feeling sluggish or gaining weight, affecting health and productivity. Tip: Balance things out by focusing on lighter, nutritious meals and gentle physical activity. Simple practices like drinking water and prioritizing veggies and proteins can make a big difference. #PostDiwaliTips #BackToRoutine #BalanceAndRenewal #ProductivityBoost #WellnessJourney #FestiveRecovery #SoftSkills #Transformation #WorkLifeBalance #MindfulLiving

At the outset I would like to wish you all Happy Diwali. It is really great to learn about healthy lifestyle followed by professionals from varied backgrounds. As a practitioner of overall "wellbeing" with curious mind, here are my top five:- 1. Moving my body by following long walks in natural settings by the water bodies, walking barefoot on grass and running few days a week as weather permits. My goal is to exercise 5 days a week, during summer here, swimming is something I enjoy for its consistency and during winter Squash for its pace. At Basware we have steady fitness challenges and great colleagues besides the club members who are at my residential area. Practical tip here is to surround yourself with those who inspire you with their actions, also “walk and talk” meetings are great fun. 2. Reading non-fiction is my passion, be it current affairs, technology trends, defense matters etc. my goal is to avoid screen time later part of the day and switch over to reading books. Yes I have managed to get few author endorsed books in my collection too. Practical tip is reading does to your mind what exercise does to your body, it is never late to get started even going through editorial in newspaper is perfect outcome. 3. Besides the travel time and schedules in different time zones (only time I track my sleep with devices to ensure proper rest) I practice “beauty sleep”, way of tricking my brain to put this as utmost priority. My motivation is to get up on time to enjoy morning time before it is taken over by humdrum of the day and yes I love observing/clicking sunrise and natural surroundings. Practical tip is to follow regimen to ensure we get 6-8 hours of snooze and wake up at same time without alarm is nirvana. 4. During my work from home schedule, I just love making tea for my Mom and Spouse (well we have a saying at our home we just love our tea in our own way) and during the weekend cooking for my family or close friends (yes those are from my school time and being fortunate to be in tricity is a plus) is something I immensely cherish. Practical tip is spending quality time with your closest relations is the essence of life. 5. To the final one during the weekends or early mornings I would love to spend time in my kitchen garden as we grow seasonal vegetables and herbs. The process is so powerful, natural, and calming as you learn a lot while working with your hands in contact with soil. Practical tip is you can start with something different to stimulate you and it is very liberating. Taking annual vacation with family and once in a while solo is a great experience as well, picture here is rising sun clicked in portrait mode from somewhere in Himalayas. Thank you so much for reading this and as always, really keen to learn your thoughts as well inputs. #greatplacetowork #wearebold #skplearnings #HealthyHabitHeroes #Wellbeing #NowItAllJustHappens

Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is a significant festival in India and is celebrated with much enthusiasm and joy. A key tradition during Diwali is the thorough cleaning of homes. This act is symbolic as well as practical, representing a fresh start, warding off negativity, and welcoming the goddess Lakshmi, the symbol of wealth and prosperity, into a clean and inviting home. The correlation you're pointing out is between the physical act of cleaning for Diwali and the metaphorical act of cleaning our minds. Here’s how they relate: 1. **Physical Cleaning:** - During Diwali, people engage in extensive cleaning of their homes. This might involve decluttering, dusting, and even partaking in small renovations. The aim is to have an organized and pristine environment that attracts positive energy and signifies readiness for new beginnings. 2. **Mind Cleaning:** - Just as homes need regular cleaning, our minds require occasional cleansing too. This involves letting go of negative thoughts, clearing mental clutter, and focusing on positivity and growth. 3. **Symbolism and Tradition:** - Cleaning for Diwali can be seen as a metaphor for self-reflection and purification. It’s not just about physical cleanliness but also about mental and spiritual renewal. - The most difficult aspect of this process is often the internal cleanse—the act of letting go of past grievances, stress, and negativity, which can deeply root in our minds. 4. **Challenges of Mind Cleaning:** - Unlike dusting a shelf, cleaning the mind can be challenging as it involves introspection, self-awareness, and actively working to change thought patterns. This can be a complex task that requires time, patience, and often, guidance or support through practices like meditation or therapy. 5. **Outcome:** - Just like the satisfaction of a clean and organized home, a clear mind can lead to enhanced mental health, peace, and a positive outlook. In essence, the tradition of cleaning during Diwali can serve as an excellent reminder and opportunity to also engage in the challenging yet rewarding task of cleaning our minds and spirits. This holistic approach to cleansing can significantly enhance the quality of life, promoting happiness and mental well-being alongside physical tidiness.

Today, I saw something fascinating at the Diwali bazaar that made me think about mental health differently Walking through the bustling streets, watching people rush to buy diyas and decorations, I noticed two types of shoppers: 1. Those racing through their shopping lists, stressed and overwhelmed 2. Those who turned shopping into a mindful experience, taking in the festival energy Here's what most people miss about festival preparation and mental wellness: • The preparation itself can be therapeutic if we shift our mindset • Traditional festivals actually built-in mental health practices (community bonding, creative expression, mindful activities) • The rush for "perfect" celebrations often defeats the very purpose of festivals - finding joy and connection What I've noticed working with corporate clients: Companies that embrace festival seasons as mental wellness opportunities (not just holidays) see 3x better team engagement. Real talk: You don't need to choose between festive responsibilities and mental peace. They were actually designed to work together. Next time you're preparing for Diwali, try this: 1. Turn decoration into mindful practice 2. Make shopping a social connection opportunity 3. Use rangoli-making as creative therapy 4. Transform cleaning into a grounding exercise The ancient wisdom behind our festivals might just be the mental wellness hack we've been overlooking. What's your favorite part of Diwali preparation that actually helps you destress? #TherapyU #mentalwellness #Indian

Happy Diwali 🥰 Simple Thoughts on freedom ✊ ✊ ✊ My family and I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a very Happy Diwali. May the festival of lights bring you joy, prosperity and freedom that we all deserve. On this festive occasion, would also like to take the liberty of sharing a few thoughts and ideas on achieving true freedom for ourselves and our loved ones. "Freedom is the the open window through which pours the sunlight of the human spirit and dignity" Here is what i have learnt about achieving and freedom in few of the most important aspects of our lives. After a long struggle, finally I manage to get my priorities right. Health, love and work, in that order. Health Yoga has been a great been a saviour. Yoga means "union" - union of mind, body, soul and nature/creator/higher power whatever you call it. Most of the folks relate Yoga to complicated asanas (postures). But it is not like that. It is a way of living. Love As great Víctor Frankl wrote in "Man's search for meaning", people find meaning and purpose of their life in people they love, the work they do or the bigger cause they believe in. Meaningful work and meaningful relations is what makes life worth living. Work “We made a lot of money but what we really wanted was independence. What’s really great is if you can do what you want to do in life and associate with who you want to associate in life, and we’ve both had that spirit all the way through." "Open markets" (mostly) and "internet democracy" helps us to pursue the business interests we want to pursue and the skills we want to learn while making a good living. I feel blessed that I can learn from the likes of Warren Buffett, Charlie Munger, Jack Bogle, Peter Lynch, Steve Jobs, Benjamin Graham, Howard Marks, Ray Dalio, Stephen Schwarzman, Benjamin Franklin, Jeff Bezos, and everyone else who has done great work in their respective fields. Lately have been able to appreciate power of leverage .Your capital, tech, media and people should help you realize the impact you wish to have. You can invest (capital) in amazing companies (public or private), software (tech) is eating the world (as highlighted by A16Z) and can help you do amazing things, media (paid as well as earned) can help you reach a wider audience like a yoga guru or smart politicians and people smarter than you can create the magic for you though power of collaboration, partnerships, thoughts and idea sharing and what not. We are really spoilt for choice here. Won't these all amazing things help you achieve true freedom/independence if that is what you wish to have? May the festival of lights enlighten our lives with abundant health, love, wealth, wisdom and most importantly true freedom and independence! #happydiwali #freedom #independence #love #work #health
