People overcomplicate game development. Listen, if you are a new studio: Avoid: - Making a game on a niche genre - Monetization first strategy - Disregarding user acquisition and marketing - Rushing the whole process Instead: - Start spending more time on research - Rely on data for your design process - Prioritize communication between departments - Don’t skip a phase (yes, especially QA) - Understand it takes time to ship a good game Focus on these for your early titles. Build from there. Cheers! PS: Time-Money-Number of games varies depending on which platform you are making a game. #videogames #gamedevelopment

Starting a new game studio? Here are tips that can make all the difference in your journey: 1. Kill Your Favorites If a prototype doesn’t meet expectations, let it go. Learn from it and apply the lessons to the next iteration. Focus on what works, not on what you wish would work. 2. Streamline Your Pipeline Build an efficient process from concept to testing. Reuse assets when possible to save time, and keep the focus on speed and iteration. 3. Patience and Persistence Most prototypes will fail, and that’s okay. Keep refining, learning, and staying committed to long-term success. 4. Engagement First Ensure your core mechanics are fun and addictive. Build loyalty by creating a game that players want to come back to. 5. Vision and Roadmap Define a clear vision and break it into milestones. Adjust as needed but keep your direction intact. 6. Prioritize Stability Stability is very important. Allocate time for thorough testing so your players experience a smooth, bug-free game. 7. Know Your Audience Understand your target players and align everything, from design to marketing, with their preferences. 8. Plan for LiveOps Keep the game fresh post-launch. Plan for updates, events, and new content to keep players engaged. 9. Core Gameplay First Establish a solid core loop before adding extra features. Build around that strong foundation. 10. Engage with Your Audience Early feedback is gold. Stay connected and use that feedback to improve the game. 11. Test Marketability Early Run early tests on market appeal using ads or landing pages. Metrics like CTR, CVR, and CPI can guide you on what’s working.

It's so refreshing to have access to in-depth stats to every single game on the HypeHype Inc. platform. It's a hard and fast goodbye from me to the days of blackbox slow paced guesswork and getting feedback to developers :) Working with my small group of devs is so satisfying to see the efforts of our iterations nudging the needle upwards. Whilst there's a lot of crossover with typical mobile stats, UGC platform are different beasts with players often jumping around from experience to experience. We encourage and reward playtime and repeated sessions and our developers earn by creating cool games that players love to play, y'know, like games :D No pesky annoying, immersion breaking ad interruptions that force you to try and close a million little x's around the screen that more often than not lasts longer than actually playing the game itself, I'm just so over that! Being able to monitor results super fast and on platform, along with comparison tables on everything that really matters, makes bridging the gap between creativity and data so satisfying. It's just so refreshing! A huge shout out to our talented and passionate creators who continue to push their creativity and always being open to experiment. I still have 1 or 2 slots left if you wanna team up and create epic stuff together so be sure to hit me up and if you just want to have a play around and see what the future of gaming looks like, be sure to use the link below to have a poke around at our world class game editor. 2025 is gonna be Epic and we're just getting started, you coming? > Link in the first comment and we'll fast track you in :) #gamedev #hypehype #gamedesign #mobilegamedev

With studio #2 I wanted to step off the content treadmill 🏃🏽😓 My first studio, JuiceBox Games, was focused on an RPG-style game that required a massive team to keep up with the voracious appetite of players 😋 Our complex features were time-intensive to build and upkeep … and that investment didn’t always pay off. Our team was also heavy with developers at the expense of the necessary user acquisition (UA) talent we needed to grow 🤦🏽 Keeping up with the content treadmill was not only costly - it was risky. By channeling so much of our energy and resources into a single game, we bet the company on its success. With FunCraft, Jason McGuirk and I wanted to take a new approach: ✨Build and operate more games faster and more efficiently ✨ We decided to lean into classic gameplay, dressed in midcore features and systems. Our games are fresh and engaging, but players are coming to play classic word games - not to consume an endless stream of new content. Our games aren’t stagnant. We DO invest in quality content, but we update in a way that is systemized and staggered. Here’s an example: we update our leaderboards seasonally - a content feature we can calendar, automate, and repeat. Building simpler games focused on classic gameplay took us off the content treadmill and preserved our energy and resources for the things that elevate our business: 🎯 Investing in UA and ad monetization 🎯 Building new games 🎯 Operating our existing games as efficiently as possible Don’t get me wrong - content-heavy games are great…if you’re a player or a massive studio. But as a newer studio operating in this competitive, saturated market, we didn’t want to play the content game. We want to play the game that best positions us to win 🚀
