Nighttime thoughts. Not too long ago, a delivery like this would have been considered a serious offense and could have resulted in the courier's dismissal. Courier companies with an "Express" title are held to a high standard and are expected to meet certain criteria without exception. Meeting the premium standard is a must, even though we only charge RM3.00 per kg. In our eyes, a premium is a premium, and the service will be premium no matter how small our charge is. To leave a shipment unattended and only leave a message is a crime by that standard. At the time when courier companies were conventional and traditional, couriers were required to obtain three compulsory confirmations before leaving a shipment: (1) name, (2) IC number, and (3) signature. In my previous organisation, which was the leading courier express company in pharmaceutical delivery, we also required a signed delivery order (DO) with a received chop and a differently colored copy of the consignment note (CN) to be returned to the sender. Now, everything is to be simplified. At the front of the offices, condominiums, or apartments, there is a table where couriers can place shipments and food, which are often scattered and unattended. It is simple and easy, but for those like us who have been taught traditionally, it will not be something so pleasant to our eyes and hearts. But that is how the courier industry works now. We adapt and move forward. I remember that at one time, we had a contract to deliver diapers and pampers to a receiver. During that time, we could not leave any shipment at any table or guardhouse. Instead, we would bring it back to our hub for a second attempt the next day. Not receiving diapers and pampers on the stipulated day and time has become an insult and a hurdle, especially for the couriers. Nothing good comes from us, and only demands and complaints come from the receiver. Oh, I love those days when, despite all this, we love and happy to do our jobs. The industry that is mostly a last choice for everyone to join, not a high-flyer job, but anyone who steps into the industry will find it hard to move out of it. Prior to my departure, our organisation was recognised as the Best courier service in Malaysia for delivery performance. This prestigious award was presented by MCMC, the highest honor bestowed upon courier organisations in the country. It serves as a testament to our unwavering commitment to upholding industry standards and delivering exceptional service.. However, there are a number of localised exceptions. What can customers do if their delivery or collection is delayed? Much of the UK, including Scotland, Wales, the north and midlands, has experienced the first major snowfall of the winter. This is causing problems on some local roads and to regional rail services. However, so far there has been no significant national disruption to UK courier and mail services, says the delivery comparison expert Parcelhero. Back in 2007, I was working as a PA in the fashion industry, constantly dealing with the frustration of courier delays and lost packages. One day, out of sheer frustration, I asked my boss, "What can I do to make this better?" His response—half-joking—was, "Start your own courier business." Little did he know, that offhand comment would change everything. Two weeks later, I did just that. With one courier and a desire to solve the very problems I had faced myself, SELENA COURIER SERVICE was born. What started as a personal solution quickly grew into something much bigger—a business that, over the years, has served over 10,000 clients. I can’t give you the exact number of orders due to a system swap, but I know this: we’ve made a difference. From the start, my mission was clear. I didn’t want to just run a courier service—I wanted to create a company that helps clients by solving problems and ensuring they never have to experience the frustrations I once did. For us, it’s not just about delivering packages; it’s about delivering trust and reliability. I wrote this column for today's Irish Times based on a bad public transport experience I had last Saturday. I had intended to travel with a private bus operator and the truth is, that service barely qualifies as "public transport" in terms of the degree to which it is regulated by the NTA or the Department of Transport. We really need to step up the minimum standards that are required for a company to advertise services as a public transport company. There should be minimum levels of frequency, staff and bus capacity relative to passsengers and routes. In this case, I think the route is badly designed, is too slow and often subject to delays as a result of congestion. It would make more sense to have a triangular route between Cork, Waterford and Kilkenny and to increase the frequency of bus services to Kilkenny, Carlow and Dublin between the various operators (Bus Eireann, Dublin Coach, JJ Kavanagh) to at least 2-3 per hour. With such frequencies, disruptions would not have the devastating effects that Saturday's ghost bus had. The other issue of course is the interface between private operators and the public. The bus company concerned has a poor track record, no refund facility, limited customer information and real-time information that is confusing (it showed the delay of 1.5 hours on Saturday but in fact that was the following bus in the schedule - my bus should have been shown as cancelled). We have lots of work to do to improve these services. "Higher Than Market Rate"??? Hello colleagues,associates and friends. It's been said my service fees are above "Market Rate" hmmmm, well who sets the market rate? and what level of carrier service determines "Market Rate"? Lyons Gate specializes in the transportation of Trade-Show & HV Blanket-Wrap cargo, such as medical equipment, electronics and office furniture. As i have stated when Lyons Gate 1st opened in 2015 HV cargo is the aforementioned, Common freight is 40,000lbs of Dog food or laundry detergent. The Lyons Gate Group takes pride in our process to deliver the best in transportation. From "Direct Communication to Exclusive Cargo Attention" That my friends allows LG to submit bids indeed above those carriers that do not provide anything near the Premium service level of LG. I know this because I see my competition daily. I won't go into what I see as not to disparage my competitors to harshly. Not only dose LG deliver it's CARGO "A HEAD OF TIME,ON TIME,ALL THE TIME Our procedures places our customers at ease knowing LG maintains the highest of communication standards and attention to the details of the loading & unloading. We do not sit in our trucks picking our nose while our clients cargo is being handled or miss handled, oops. Now I could go on about the standards of excellence I expect and require from myself and my team. Instead I think it more appropriate to allow my HV clients to express why they have no issue in hiring The Lyons Gate Group Corp at the so called higher then "Market rate" line lol. Ladies and gentleman we get what we pay for. Old but wise cli-che' that hold true even in 2024. Market rate it seems to me gets you ; trucks that do not show up, drivers that do not wish to wait to be unloaded, trailers with holes in roof an floor, trailers a complete mess and dirty ugh! And drivers dressed in their pajamas and slippers showing you "their phone" because they cannot communicate. All the aforementioned results in non-readiness and wasted time. And the possibility of service failure. Well there you have it . I may sound eccentric in my zeal to deliver Premium service, so be it . Lyons Gate delivers with zeal every shipment entrusted to us with the same passion. Below my friends are just a few honorable mentions from our clients.
