Reimagining Learning by Integrating Bloom's Taxonomy and Generative AI in Higher Education * Advancing meaningful learning in the age of AI Bloom's Taxonomy is a valuable tool for higher education faculty to assess the different' levels' of learning targeted by course-level outcomes. It also helps align activities and assessments that support student learning and success. In this context, authors applied Bloom’s Taxonomy to rethink course outcomes and student learning in the era of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI). The educators' role is crucial in identifying necessary changes to promote meaningful learning and exploring opportunities for thoughtful integration of GenAI in student use. Educators can use this table as a reference for evaluating and considering changes to aligned course activities (or, where possible, learning outcomes) that emphasize distinctive human skills and integrate generative AI (GenAI) tools to supplement the learning process. https://lnkd.in/gzEwEVZF #genai #gai #education #bloomstaxonomy #genaiand education

Two weeks ago, thanks to Dr Pratima Majal, I had the privilege of leading a session in the #POLITE Webinar sharing session titled "Embracing Generative AI in Education: My Journey in Assessment Redesign". It was an enriching experience to walk participants through the transformative process of integrating Generative AI tools into the assessment redesign of my subject, aiming to enhance both teaching and learning experiences. Focusing on mathematical modeling, I've always aimed to integrate it meaningfully into my classes. The advent of Generative AI has been a game-changer, enabling me to scale up implementation for the recent cohort of PFP students effectively. During the session, I detailed how Generative AI facilitated the crafting of assignment brief, deliverable, and assessment rubrics. Moreover, I emphasized the significance of conversational prompting, sharing insights on crafting effective prompts and modeling the responsible use of Generative AI for students. This session went beyond just sharing my journey; it was a collective exploration into the potential of generative AI to revolutionize education. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and enriched the webinar with their insightful questions during the Q&A session. The thoughtful inquiries not only highlighted key aspects of generative AI's role in education but also allowed us to delve deeper into its practical applications and ethical considerations. This collaborative spirit of inquiry is what will propel us forward as we figure out how to navigate the future of education. For those who were unable to attend, I warmly encourage you to reach out. I'd be delighted to share insights from my journey with you. Let's continue to work together, using our insights to shape a more innovative, inclusive, and engaging educational future. #GenerativeAI #EducationInnovation #Teaching #AssessmentRedesign #EducationalTechnology #PostWebinarReflections

For many students, further education can be financially and emotionally stressful, even without these added layers in the mix. A nuanced report that points to the need for universities to ensure whole-institution, AI academic support that is trusted, ethical, and approved by the institution, to lift confidence (and remove the "guilt").
