Seismic Risk Survey for Commercial Building Tenants We are currently working on improving how we communicate seismic risk information with commercial building tenants. Our goal is to ensure that organisations have the necessary information to make informed decisions about the buildings they lease. To achieve this, we have developed a short survey that takes less than 10 minutes to complete. The purpose of the survey is to understand how tenants react to different messages regarding seismic risk. Survey link: https://zurl.co/f2yW Who are we? We are Resilient Organisations and the Joint Centre for Disaster Research at Massey University. We are conducting research on how commercial building tenants respond to different messages about the seismic risk of their buildings. Why should you take the survey? By participating in this research, you will be contributing to the development of public guidance for professionals such as engineers, property managers, and policymakers who communicate seismic risk information with commercial building tenants. This will ensure that you receive messaging as a tenant that allows you to make informed decisions regarding seismic risk within your leasing arrangements. Who funded this research? The research is jointly funded by the Building Research Association of New Zealand (BRANZ) and the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE). We genuinely appreciate your time and effort in completing this survey and contributing to this important research to create a more resilient Aotearoa New Zealand. Building and Construction Minister Chris Penk today announced the scope of a comprehensive review of New Zealand’s earthquake-prone building regime. We consider some of the review topics in our article below. The review is due to be completed quickly, with the report to Cabinet due in Q2 2025. It will likely be followed by a period of public consultation and legislative reform – both of which will likely contribute to short-term uncertainty. https://lnkd.in/gEJa7MSt
