With ever-increasing building standards that ensure the safety of new builds and existing property, it’s vital that property managers and building teams take every effort to increase energy efficiency. UK Govt’s Document L standard is a legal obligation for all new projects - and it’s something that those building new properties need to take very seriously. The best way to make a property more energy efficient is with a focus on airtightness during the build phase. https://lnkd.in/eRigSq-z

London’s £5bn Thames Tideway (a.k.a. the “super sewer”) is impressive, but it’s got nothing on this absolute monster of an infrastructure project... China’s South-North Water Transfer Project is an eye-watering display of engineering ambition. With an estimated cost of £59 billion so far, it’s on track to become one of the most expensive projects in history—designed to carry a staggering 44.8 billion cubic metres of water from the Yangtze River in the south to the arid northern regions. The project spans three massive canal systems, linking four of China’s major rivers—the Yangtze, Yellow, Huaihe, and Haihe—and supplying water to some of the world’s most industrialised areas. It’s a megaproject that’s been over 50 years in the making and could take another two decades to complete. A few highlights for engineers: The Eastern Route reworks China’s historic Grand Canal, moving water north through a network of pumping stations and tunnels. The Central Route, or Grand Aqueduct, transports water from the Danjiangkou Reservoir to Beijing, powered entirely by gravity. Rightly, there are concerns about ecosystem disruption and habitat loss. But from an engineering perspective, the vision, scale, and expertise involved in projects like this are truly staggering. #WastewaterIndustry #WastewaterEngineering #EngineeringExcellence #PBJEngineering

The worst opportunity in this market are BTR communities Lowest cap rates and lowest quality construction (I know I’m generalizing, but you would too if you’ve seen what I’ve seen)

Tips for purchasing land in ECR: 1. Title Verification: Ensure the land has a clear title with no encumbrances or disputes. 2. Coastal Regulation Zone Compliance: Check if the property falls within CRZ restrictions, which may limit construction. 3. Legal Due Diligence: Engage a real estate lawyer to validate all documents, including sale deeds and approvals. 4. Market Analysis: Assess current market trends and rates to avoid overpaying. 5. Soil Testing: Conduct a soil test to confirm suitability for construction, especially near the coast. 6. Infrastructure and Utilities: Ensure availability of water, electricity, and road access. 7. Future Developments: Research any planned infrastructure projects, as these can significantly impact property value. Following these steps can ensure a safe and profitable investment in ECR. #Srtworks #chennai #ecr #plotforsale

Recently INFRACO were privileged to engage with Essex & Suffolk Water regarding the strategic supply of potable water to a prestigious power generation project underway in Suffolk. Essex & Suffolk Water invited us to their office near Hanningfield Reservoir - it made for a refreshing change of scenery! Amid climate change, as urbanisation increases and the population grows, water becomes an even more essential resource that the UK needs to invest in and prioritise to facilitate the future. The construction of multiple new reservoirs, on a scale similar to Hanningfield, are already identified as part of the UK’s sustainable water management strategy and INFRACO looks forward to doing its bit to solve infrastructure's most challenging problems ahead. Some factoids on Hannigfield are below: 1. Hanningfield Reservoir started construction in 1951 and it took five years to build. 2. It is currently the 11th largest reservoir in England - the second largest in Essex. 3. The dam straight was the longest in Europe when built. 3) Water is pumped nine miles from local rivers to fill the reservoir. 5) The water held there goes on to supply 540,000 homes which is about 1.5 million people. #water #waterinfrastructure #infrastructure #utilities #weareinfraco
