Ever wondered why it's crucial to dive into your professor's research papers before that big interview? Here's the scoop! It's not about reading every single paper they've published—phew, right? 😅 It's about 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 and showing genuine interest in their work. Professors don't expect you to be an expert on all their studies, but they do appreciate when you: 1. 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐏𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 : Understand the main #themes and goals of their research. What are they passionate about? What questions are they trying to answer? 2. 𝐀𝐬𝐤 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 : By knowing the basics, you can ask #smartquestions that show you're engaged and curious. This can spark a great conversation and leave a memorable impression! 3. 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐢𝐭 : Relate your #interests and #experiences to their work. It helps them see how you can contribute to their research and why you'd be a great addition to their team. So, before that next interview, take some time to read a few key papers. It’s a game-changer! 🚀 For more content like this follow Bivas Nag POV: Me reading before my grad school interview with #MrBeast #ResearchLife #InterviewTips #LabAdventures #OwnYourWork #AcademicJourney #ResearchCareer #MastersToPhD #NetworkingTips #CareerAdvice #GradSchoolLife #Motivation #PhDApplication #PhDStudent #JobSearch #Success #Application #PersonalDevelopment #PhDPosition #Europe #US #interview #Mindset #Students #PhDLife #Experiences #Growth #GradStudent #GraduateSchool

I've already conducted a few market research interviews, but having a large sample pool gives me a better idea of what’s helpful for future clients in meeting their needs. I will be launching a beta program within the next two weeks, based on the data I’ve already gathered. Iterating on the fly is a way to learn as I go, while still doing my best to help others. If this is the first you’re hearing of this: I’m looking for people who struggle with people pleasing and are ready to step into their own life on their own terms. If you’re in a helping profession, a high-powered careerist or someone thinking of launching an encore career, you are exactly the person I need to learn from as part of research for my business. I’d love to do a 15 minute, no-pitch interview with you. If you are willing to do this with me, pls comment below or send me a private message so we can get it set up. #marketResearch #peoplePleaser #ImposterSyndrom #SelfHelp #LifeCoach #ExecutiveCoaching #accountability #growth #PersonalDevelopment #PersonalGrowth #coaching #EncoreCareer #focusGroup

Midway through 'Head Start' and already gaining so much from it! Huge thanks to Aarti Kelshikar Ma'am for recommending this fantastic read by Vivek Gambhir & Sunder Ramachandran . Although I haven't finished it yet, I'm eager to share my enthusiasm. On my way back to my hometown, while I was reading it, I couldn't stop myself from writing about it. It is a holy grail for recent graduates, people who are starting their professional lives, those who are seeking change in their career path and for entrepreneurs. The book's actionable tips and real-life examples are helping me clarify my goals and build a strong foundation for professional growth. Highly recommended! Here are my key takeaways from the book. 1. Clarifies career goals and priorities 2. Offers practical strategies for networking and building relationships 3. Develops essential skills for professional growth 4. Provides guidance on resume building, interviewing, and job searching 5. Emphasizes the importance of continuous learning and self-development #HeadStart #CareerAdvice #BookRecommendation #CareerKickstart

A top university professor interviewed me for a post-doc, but seemed more interested in finding a doormat and exploiting me for publications. Today, I had an informational interview with a different organization. Within 5 minutes, they set up an interview for a senior role. "Is this a post-doc position?" I asked. "No, it's senior level so we can pay you more. A post-doc gets peanuts." Lesson: Never underestimate your worth. If your current organization refuses to recognize it - LEAVE. You deserve to be valued. The introspection and self-worth work you do directly influence the value you place on yourself. This clarity helps you see through the career nonsense. #CareerAdvice #KnowYourWorth #JobSearch #ProfessionalGrowth #CareerDevelopment #ValueYourself #JobHunting #CareerJourney #CareerTips #SelfWorth #JobInterview #CareerSuccess

I JUST NAILED MY FIRST CORPORATE INTERVIEW IN MBA and I'm still reeling from the rush! ⇨ The anticipation had been building up for weeks. Every faculty going in and out about our Placements at Adamas University. Then the day arrived for the rounds of Interview. My first-ever corporate interview was finally here. ⇨ I woke up with nervous hands and bright eyes, feeling a mix of confidence and humility. ⇨ The mock interviews had prepared me, but nothing compares to the real deal. The walk to the meeting room was a rollercoaster. ⇨ But I wasn't alone. My friends had my back - Jashpreet Kaur & Samriddha Chakraborty helping me preparing by Mock Interviewing me, with them being the panel, (the humorous and mind-blowing panel I tell you🤫) which rather led to us all cracking jokes to calm my nerves. Before entering the interview meeting... I took a deep breath, squared my shoulders, and reminded myself: I've got this. The conversation flowed, ideas exchanged, and confidence soared. As I left the interview room, I felt proud and content of how things went. This was thus the news which I anticipated to share with you all. Thanks for being the loveliest community 💪 Surround yourself with people who lift you up, and never underestimate the power of preparation. Because when Opportunity meets Preparation it means luck. Now it's your turn! Share your first interview story in the comments below. What helped you overcome your nerves? Stay tuned to find out more about the Interview series💪 #FirstInterview #CorporateLife #CareerGrowth #MBA #CampusHiring #MBA2025 #Interview

💥SYSTEMS ARE MADE FOR STUDENTS💥 It happens all the time. We have a system that the students need to stick to for their good. These systems might work for most students most of the time but it is always helpful to remember that systems can and should be adjusted to meet those needs. Situations like this can be humble reminders for students advocates you you and I to slow down and see the student more than the outcome. I expand on this idea more in my book #ServeThemWell backed with testimonies, interviews, research, and processes that explain why these approaches work and how to adapt them to your students’ unique needs. #specialeducationteacher #youthadvocate #teacherfollowteachers #teachersofinstagram #youthpastor #behavioranalysis #behaviour @newdegreepress

I've just finished reading (and underlining) Multipliers, a book that I recommend to anyone, at any stage of their career. 100% of the contents are based on in-depth studies, cases, interviews and statistics. This makes it a useful tool for improving yourself and your team, unleashing all the potentialities. Special thanks to Guillaume LEHALLIER for the suggestion, and obviously to Liz Wiseman for this masterpiece!
