These things are no surprise: 📢 89% of us need a sense of purpose in our job for #satisfaction and overall #wellbeing. ✨ I'm excited to share that I'm moving into a new role at On as Head of Social Impact, so it's time to pass the baton ✨ Almost 4 years ago, I started at On as our first teammate dedicated to Diversity and Inclusion (and quickly thereafter, Social Impact). It's been an incredible journey filled with big wins, lots of learnings, and so much growth. Both are important and deserve dedicated attention and leadership, so we are splitting them into two separate, but aligned functions. As I step into leading our growing Social Impact function full-time, we are currently hiring for our next #HeadofDiversityandInclusion! In reflecting on my time in the role, I'd be remiss not to highlight some of our most notable accomplishments as a team, including: 💥 Founding 13 global inclusion groups (ERGs), dedicated to creating a sense of inclusion and belonging, while also giving a voice to teammates around the world. 💥 Building partnerships with amazing organizations such as PROWAH, Black In Sport, Running Industry Diversity Coalition, Take The Lead Retreat, and Equal Voice. 💥 Integrating learning throughout the employee lifecycle through moments such as hiring manager trainings, core onboarding, and leadership development 💥 Increasing our BIPOC representation in the US over 10%. Interested in taking on a new challenge? Check out the job description and apply via the link in the comments! 💡 As always, I want to share that researchers have found that men apply to roles when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria. Women and other underrepresented groups tend to apply only when they check every box. If you are interested, but don't feel like you meet every single point on the job description, please still apply!

Born in the early 2000s, stepping into the workforce has shown me how unique our generation is. We're really good with tech. Growing up as things kept changing made us quick to adapt and solve problems. We're not scared of change; we're ready for it. And, contrary to popular belief, we like real conversations too (it might just take us a bit longer to open up), and we're all for learning new things. Working together as a team is something we really believe in. We also understand people well. Being online as a generation has shown us lots of different views. It makes us more ready to listen and understand where others are coming from. After I graduated, I was honestly terrified of job searching, thinking I wouldn't fit anywhere and aware that companies seemed to prefer candidates with more experience. Now, as a recruiter and almost a year of experience in, I get tons of messages from recent grads facing that same fear. I want to tell you: recognize your worth beyond work experience. You have so much to offer, you just need to see that yourself.

Wow, what an incredible and interesting last few months… - Leaving a job that was such a huge part of my career and helped shape who I am in the professional world wasn’t easy. Saying goodbye to great clients and good friends was tough. - Entering the job market has been eye-opening. There has to be a better way for both recruiters and candidates. Going through four interviews and never hearing a yes or no, or applying to over 100 jobs without receiving a single email decline, is incredibly defeating. I truly believe this isn’t intentional and that recruiters are overwhelmed by the volume of applicants. Still, there’s definitely room for improvement in the experience for all parties involved. - I got engaged, planned a wedding, and married the love of my life! The past few months have been challenging, but the patience and unconditional love I receive from my husband, Justin Dougher, has been nothing short of amazing. Thank you for being you! - I’ve been working with an incredible career coach—thank you, Nahid Casazza, MBA, for helping me rediscover my passion for what I love to do. You’re truly inspiring! - During this time off, I’ve realized just how much I’ve been living in a “fight or flight” mindset for the past 15 years, where everything revolved around work. I’ve been retraining my mind on what’s truly important: work-life balance, putting family first, cherishing time, and prioritizing physical and mental health. - I’ve loved having the time to explore the Tech world, network with new people, attend webinars, join new online organizations, and start building the foundation for my consulting brand to shape the next 25+ years of my career. Tomorrow, I start an amazing contract opportunity with Airbnb as a Senior Business Solution Engineer. I couldn’t be more thankful to Sheila Perry, who was kind, communicative, and made me feel heard throughout the recruiting process. Cheers to the future! Whoop Whoop! #newbeginnings #careerdevelopment #worklifebalance #techworld #thankful #mentalhealthmatters
