🌟 We're excited to share this conversation featuring Play for Dignity board member, Marco Di Buono, President of Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities, during his recent appearance on TVO's The Agenda with Steve Paikin. In this discussion, Marco highlighted the urgent need for systemic solutions to make sport accessible to all children. As Marco noted, "𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘣𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘴𝘵... 𝘞𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘤 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘊𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘥𝘢, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘶𝘳𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘧𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘤𝘢𝘯'𝘵 𝘢𝘧𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺...𝘸𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘤." We couldn't agree more. Play for Dignity was established to help find solutions to the systemic challenges faced by Canada’s sport and physical activity ecosystem. A systemic approach helps us to unpack why barriers persist, how they're interrelated, and how each part of the ecosystem can address these challenges. It is not enough to identify short-term fixes; we need a long-term strategy that enshrines the right to sport, play, and physical activity for all in Canada. We're excited to embark on this journey and invite you to join us! Stay connected by following us and signing up for our newsletter to be part of the conversation as we work together to identify systemic challenges and build solutions that make sport accessible for every child. 💪🏽 #RightToPlay #YouthSports #HumanRights #PlayForDignity #SportsForAll #EquityInSports

Our Executive Director of Canada SCORES Toronto Nick Taylor (He/Him) shares his thoughts on this recent interview led by Steve Paikin on his show The Agenda. Initially Nick was drawn in due to the topic, and ultimately kept watching due to the high value content being discussed by three folks in the business, sport and cause communities that Nick has met and respects for their contributions - Marco Di Buono , Bruce Kidd and Dan Cardoza. As a nonprofit organization in the youth development space, Canada SCORES Toronto launched in the GTA in 2024, but has 30 years of history behind it across North America through America SCORES and 10 years under the Canada SCORES banner in Vancouver. The organization was initially founded througha 1994 FIFA World Cup Legacy Program Fund. Canada SCORES is one of the emerging community programs that Marco mentions towards the end of the panel discussion that delivers programs for FREE. In fact, we deliver our FREE after school programs in partnership with local schools, where according to Bruce, his friends at the Toronto District School Board TDSB say they are no longer able to deliver the comprehensive curriculum for phyisical activity within their schools. Given that current statistics sugest that 58% of parents say financial constraints are limiting their ability to keep kids in activities, programs such as Canada SCORES can fill a vital gap in our schools and communities to ensure an includive, safe, fun and "whole child" focus curriculum and programs are available to support the well being and social emotional development of children and youth. We should pay attention to Bruce's words when he sugests Gordie Howe would never make the NHL today as he would not fit into the "class" system that exists around the current professionalized youth sport sector. How many children may never realize their dreams of playing and competing in sport because of financial barriers to entry? We should also note what Marco shared when he said that an investment of only $1.00 can result in $13.00 of savings in the form of reduced health care costs to the system and a recution in youth justice expenses. Can you think of a better way to invest a dollar? If you can, consider making a gift to Canada SCORES. You can support the impact of our work that has been building for 10 years in Vancouver, and is about to launch this Fall in the Greater Toronto Area. https://lnkd.in/eWBrp_V At Canada SCORES, we believe we can be part of the solution to the problems called out by these three sector leaders. We welcome interested folks to reach out to our Execeutive team leaders in Toronto and Vancouver with any questions you may have about how you can make an impact in the lives of vulnerable children and youth. #CanadaSCORES #CanadaSCORESTO #CanadaSCORESVan #AmericaSCORES #YouthDevelopment #SocialEmotionalLearning #Sport #Recreation #BarrierFreeSport #JumpStart #YMCA #Donate #Support #Soccer #Poetry #Community

Meet Coach Baldwin from Aliso Niguel High School Flag Football. A week ago, I randomly walked onto the campus and ran into their staff and parent liaison. They were about to pay a high fee + percentage to another vendor and I mentioned what we do. IT is the WHY of what we do that pulled them in and caused their minds to pause and reflect. Yes, we help teams keep all that they raise through a unique model... But it is the impact of what this can do for days/months/years for a team. Check out what Coach had to say below that I filmed on their launch day. Yes, their fundraising numbers are soaring, but that's not what this post will be centered on. More and more programs are tired of giving away too huge of a split that their kids help to raise... Time is one thing coaches and group leaders can't get back and we maximize this for your program to ensure your program gets the funding it needs and deserves. What other programs in Orange County and San Diego need this impact? EVERY SINGLE ONE... Let's collaborate and do something different with your program this year! https://lnkd.in/gvddHgCF

Everyone at BBF loves rugby. As a business, we get the importance of teamwork, and on a personal level, we know what it means to be part of a herd. The Bristol Bisons RFC are trailblazing inclusivity in rugby and showcasing that everyone has a space and place on and off the pitch. Their energy, enthusiasm and voice for access to sport without prejudice is incredible. And that’s not even mentioning the fact that they are clearly acing the game and always bring the energy to an event! That's why we jumped at the chance to support them with £8,000 towards their training costs over two years. BFF is donating £100k over the next year to help raise up Bristol communities. For the best part, we gift cost-price beer and help our community sell this to generate 3-5 times its value. But we know that beer is not always appropriate and sometimes, groups need hard cash, in real time, to achieve their ambitions. That's why we choose 3 or 4 groups each year and support them with a cash donation; one of them is the Bristol Bisons. Want to find out if the Bisons are your herd? Join them for a trial session on Monday 1st July as part of the Bristol Pride fortnight. Sign up via bisonsrfc.co.uk or if you've missed this window, check them out on socials: instagram.com/bisonsrfc and facebook.com/bisonsrfc Don't forget, every BBF beer you buy gives back to projects and communities like the Bristol Bisons. And as they say themselves, we are #StrongerAsAHerd DRINK WITH PURPOSE #BristolBeerFactory #brewedtogive #standindependent #drinkwithpurpose #bristolcharity #bristol

Hey CNN, this headline has a misplaced modifier. Will the parents be watching their son — or Flavor Flav! — compete in the Olympics tonight? The picture of a victorious Flav pumping his fists in the air also lends the reader to thinking it's the legendary rapper who will be competing, not the son. 😅 Let me know if you need to hire a Copy Editor. 😉 🙃 #copyediting #funnyheadlines #journalism #editing
Team USA Paralympic sprinter Nick Mayhugh can rest easy tonight: his parents will be able to watch him compete in Paris now that his GoFundMe met its goal – thanks to Flavor Flav’s promotion. Earlier this month, Mayhugh posted a GoFundMe on his social media asking for $10,000 to fund his parents’ travel to Paris for the 2024 Paralympic Games. Within a day, Mayhugh reached his goal, thanks to the generosity of Flav and his fans. Read more: https://cnn.it/3WN2y7e

On the back of our successful debut collaboration - PARK is the official ball of San Marino once again 🇸🇲 The Titanico739 S2 remains completely bespoke and reflective of their unique culture. But take a closer look and you'll notice a special detail. Woven between the leaves, are the names of San Marino’s nine castelli. Directly translated as castles, they represent the individual municipalities and their teams that compete in the Republic’s top flight - the Campionato Sammarinese di Calcio. With their purchase of 1000 footballs for the upcoming season, San Marino is a small country creating a big impact. That’s because through the PARK Pass-a-ball Project, when you buy a ball, we pass another to a player in need around the world. Through this unique partnership, another 1000 balls will be donated to players in need, starting 100,000 games that otherwise wouldn’t have been played. It’s the same PARK one for one impact, FIFA Pro Certified - uniquely made for San Marino and wherever the game takes them. #BrandPartnerships #BrandCollaboration #Collaboration #community #communityfirst

Some food for thought as you watch the amazing athletes at the Olympics this year. "In a survey of about 1,000 American athletes in the Olympic and Paralympic pipelines, 26.5% reported individual incomes under $15,000 a year." We love watching our country's athletes compete on the world stage, but remember that most are 1) not receiving extra $$$ from the big media and corporate endorsement $$, and 2) even if they get a boost in the Olympic weeks, they've gone through YEARS of hard work and struggle to get there. At Spid Werkz Foundation, we are here to help extraordinary athletes bridge financial and support gaps. With help from you, we can change the story for future athletes and use sport for good across the world! Please consider a tax deductible donation to support Olympic and Paralympic athletes! https://lnkd.in/eqacx6-2
