That's why I'm excited about the work of the Omuto Foundation. Some food for thought as you watch the amazing athletes at the Olympics this year. "In a survey of about 1,000 American athletes in the Olympic and Paralympic pipelines, 26.5% reported individual incomes under $15,000 a year." We love watching our country's athletes compete on the world stage, but remember that most are 1) not receiving extra $$$ from the big media and corporate endorsement $$, and 2) even if they get a boost in the Olympic weeks, they've gone through YEARS of hard work and struggle to get there. By deciding to remember us in your Will, you'll help our team be there to support and guide all ages, all abilities, all across England. Why should I leave a gift to the Foundation? If you believe in supporting future generations in volleyball then leaving a gift in your Will to us is a great way to help us do just that. Gifts we receive make a real difference to developing the sport from grassroots right through to performance level. Your gift will always matter. Can I decide how I would like my gift to be used? Gifts that are 'unrestricted' (i.e. that we can use wherever they'll make the biggest difference) are the most valuable to us as they can be used where they're most urgently needed. Exciting news! Edison has been selected to participate in the 2024 ParaTough Cup Games on March 21st, 2024.   What’s the ParaTough Cup? It’s not just any event – it’s the signature fundraising event of the Paralympic Foundation of Canada. Picture a half-day corporate challenge combining fundraising and sport competition. On event day, teams engage in three Para Sports – Wheelchair Basketball, Sitting Volleyball, and Para Ice Hockey, alongside some of Canada’s Paralympians.   Did You Know? ·      The Paralympic Games operate independently from the Olympic Games, meaning any funds raised for the Olympic Games do not benefit the Paralympic Games. ·      Unlike their able-bodied Olympic counterparts, Canadian Paralympians are not compensated for podium finishes. Canadian Olympians make $20k for gold, $15k for silver, and $10k for bronze.   Why Should You Care? Your support directly impacts the future.
