Leave a Legacy ❤️ If, like us, volleyball has been an incredibly positive and valuable part of your life and you’d like to help others who might not have that chance to experience the profound impact that sport can have, then a gift in your Will can continue the Foundation’s efforts and leave a legacy of support to all those that come after you. By deciding to remember us in your Will, you'll help our team be there to support and guide all ages, all abilities, all across England. Why should I leave a gift to the Foundation? If you believe in supporting future generations in volleyball then leaving a gift in your Will to us is a great way to help us do just that. Gifts we receive make a real difference to developing the sport from grassroots right through to performance level. Your gift will always matter. Can I decide how I would like my gift to be used? Gifts that are 'unrestricted' (i.e. that we can use wherever they'll make the biggest difference) are the most valuable to us as they can be used where they're most urgently needed. You can also leave a gift in your Will to a particular area or campaign, please just get in touch. What type of gift can I leave? We're hugely grateful for every gift and there are three main types of gift you can leave: A residuary legacy is a percentage of whatever is left over from an estate after debts, funeral expenses, administration costs, and all other gifts have been paid. This can be any percentage you like. Many people choose this type of gift as it ensures their loved ones are taken care of first. A pecuniary legacy is a fixed sum of money that can be any amount, big or small. A specific legacy is a gift of a particular item, such as property or an item of jewellery. A story about what means to be resilient.
The health benefits of playing racket sports are well documented. France's Guillaume Delamarre certainly believes in the power of tennis and credits the sport with giving him the physical and mental fortitude to beat cancer. It is a truly inspiring story. Guillaume has since established Play Again – a not-for-profit foundation which helps people take part in sport and physcial activity to combat illness. Play Again are hosting a fundraising event at Hotel Drouot in Paris on 28 March and there are some wonderful items being auctioned. The Italian American Baseball Foundation has awarded nearly $250,000 in scholarships to Italians and Italian Americans over the last four years. These scholarships help college baseball and softball players reach their dreams of playing at the next level in the United States. Several scholarship recipients have been members of the Italian National Team and have taken advantage of our relationships with American colleges and universities through the IABF College Pipeline. This is real money with real connections and holds tremendous value for the student-athletes who believe in IABF and all we offer as one of the world's leading baseball non-profits. Our mission has never been clearer: grow baseball in Italy, build opportunities for student-athletes, and rejuvenate a depleted youth system with baseball development and financial support. This movement is real. IABF is focused on building a brighter, better, and bigger future than ever before. 🇮🇹 ⚾️ 🇺🇸 #Italy #Italia #Baseball #College #Scholarships #HigherEducation

Exciting news! Edison has been selected to participate in the 2024 ParaTough Cup Games on March 21st, 2024. What’s the ParaTough Cup? It’s not just any event – it’s the signature fundraising event of the Paralympic Foundation of Canada. Picture a half-day corporate challenge combining fundraising and sport competition. On event day, teams engage in three Para Sports – Wheelchair Basketball, Sitting Volleyball, and Para Ice Hockey, alongside some of Canada’s Paralympians. Did You Know? · The Paralympic Games operate independently from the Olympic Games, meaning any funds raised for the Olympic Games do not benefit the Paralympic Games. · Unlike their able-bodied Olympic counterparts, Canadian Paralympians are not compensated for podium finishes. Canadian Olympians make $20k for gold, $15k for silver, and $10k for bronze. Why Should You Care? Your support directly impacts the future. Through the Paralympic Foundation of Canada’s partnership with the Canadian Paralympic Committee, funds raised for this event goes towards creating a future where Canadians with a disability are offered ample opportunities to experience the transformative power of sport. Ready to Make a Difference? Join us in supporting Team “Edison’s Restoration Rebels” goal of raising $15,000 for the Toronto 2024 ParaTough Cup Games! Something tells us that after yesterday's 13th Annual JLL Real Estate Charity Beach Volleyball Tournament (congrats to the winners!) and a demanding morning, your minds are already on the weekend 😎 And we don't blame you!—we were there too! That's why we recommend checking out more books from our library. This time, our CEO, Tom—one of the biggest bookaholics on our team—shares his picks 🔥. On the list https://lnkd.in/drXSmcWU , you'll find: 📖 one book he’s read 3 or more times, 📖 one book he’s read twice, 📖 one book he’s read once, 📖 and one book he likes to jump across. Because more is better, right? In the photo: the library at the Grupa Pracuj office (source: press materials). Nice, isn't it? 🙃 If you have a book nook set up at your place, share a photo in the comments.

This one is really special to me. I got to read through some of the applications for this grant program & I was moved by some of what I read from coaches/administrators. These messages came from high school coaches who are passionate about their student-athletes & about tennis being a beacon of light for them. I read emails from coaches who pay out of pocket for transportation, tennis balls, used racquets, & repurposing equipment such as racquet grips for their kids. Schools where tennis programs get a budget of a couple hundred dollars per year & if there isn't enough interest to play, then the programs get cut. I read some statements describing how the kids' confidence & passion for the sport were driven by the fact that they were able to get something as simple as new uniforms to wear. Little things can go a long way in making student-athletes feel supported & make them want to play sports, not just tennis. These are things that as a high school tennis player myself, I never thought about. I couldn't imagine where I'd be, if my dad had not introduced me to tennis & if I didn't have the opportunity to play in high school. These coaches are a huge part of keeping the heartbeat of this sport alive where parents or schools may not have the funds to make tennis a part of the kids lives. For me, personally, there is nothing that I do in the tennis world that's more important than growing the love of the sport at a grass roots level. If you have a passion for something & you want the next generation to feel that too, find ways you can help!
Scholars & Scores Count! Grant Winners Announced 🎉 The Universal Tennis Foundation grant initiative; • $55,000 grant money awarded • 55 public high schools across 23 states • Over 2,000 student-athletes We are SO happy to have the opportunity to help these schools & see the students falling in love with the game of tennis ❤️ Reading through YOUR stories & kind words meant the world to us 🥹 https://lnkd.in/gG_aMGRH

The winning Partnership. How local Business Support Benefits Local Sports Teams. Warrick Bowden, Managing Director of Character Print Solutions says… Someone once asked me why do you volunteer as a coach with Naas Rugby Club? Is it not just a lot of hassle and time consuming? Every Saturday I get to answer those questions. It’s seeing a group of 12 year old boys with smiles on their faces, individually and collectively enjoying their rugby. It is watching them grow and develop their sporting and their life skills. It is seeing their parents faces as they watch on. It’s a sense of pride and satisfaction that I am giving something back to the local community. That’s what makes it all worthwhile for me personally. And it is that local community that in turn supports me and my business. So along with committing my personal time, Character Print Solutions is a sponsor of Naas Rugby Club. All amateur clubs need the support of local businesses to survive and thrive. Businesses that understand the positive impact of delivering on their corporate social responsibility. Both volunteering and financial sponsors are vital for the success of the club and allow it to continue to grow and develop players of all levels to reach their potential. Naas Rugby Club is a community based club - in the community, for the community, with the support of the community. Naas Rugby Club is our community, and we are proud to count ourselves as a sponsor and supporter of the club, the game of rugby and the wellbeing of all the kids and adults who train and play every week. So let me finish by asking the opposite question. Why don’t you volunteer for your local sports club? No, it’s not a hassle; yes, you must give of your time; and yes, it is hugely rewarding. I’ll finish with a quote – “don’t ever question the value of volunteers, Noah’s Ark was built by volunteers, the Titanic was built by paid professionals!” #sports #localbusiness #rugby #naas #NRFC
