The BSR will now begin calling up organisations to submit their building safety case reports. ▶ 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 The new consumer regulation regime is now in force, including revised 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 and 𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 The regulatory regime reform will ensure social landlords focus on the needs of their tenants and are held to account for their performance. ▶ 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲 The Housing Ombudsman's Complaint Handling Code will also become statutory from 1st April, changing the way organisations resolve complaints raised by tenants. The Welsh Housing Quality Standard 2023 - Maintaining and improving social housing in Wales published April 2024 emphasises the importance of The Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) It says the following conditions would result in a home failing a particular element of the standard (listed below): The presence of one or more deficiencies, in any element of the standard, that contribute to a HHSRS Category 1 Hazard/s. A hazard rating score (expressed as a band) which is assessed to be worse than the national average for that particular type and age of dwelling, where one or more of the prescribed HHSRS hazards are referenced within any element of the standard.
