Pennington Choices achieves ISO 14064-1 Carbon Footprint Verification
We are proud to announce that Pennington Choices have received the ISO 14064-1 – Carbon Footprint Verification (CFV), which verifies our greenhouse gas emissions as an organisation, and demonstrates our commitment to tackling climate change and reducing our carbon footprint as a business.
To secure this verification, we established our carbon footprint through a series of calculations during the 2021/2022 financial year. These calculations were then submitted to the British Standards Institution (BSI) through three main documents that provided a precise representation of the emissions created in this period. These documents included a greenhouse gas emissions planning report, an inventory report, and a record of emissions alongside supporting evidence.
The BSI determined that our submission and evidence was an accurate reflection of the work we undertook and continue to undertake. This achievement is a testament to our commitment of operating in an environmentally friendly way, as part of the wider commitment the UK has made to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by a minimum of 100%, achieving net zero by 2050.
Senior Consultant and Environmental Manager, Jordan Brown commented “The CFV is the first big step on our journey of becoming more carbon efficient and achieving a net zero status. We are proud to demonstrate our environmental awareness and responsibility, alongside showing that our carbon footprint is both credible and reliable. We are looking forward to continuing our journey of reducing our emissions through forward-thinking practices, whilst being socially aware of the impact we have on the planet and doing our part to create a better future for all.”

1yA fantastic achievement by the team, especially Jordan Brown - I'm sure my former colleague Helen Cutts would be pleased to see this!
