So, from 1 September 2024 BPP and Kaplan are no longer going to be approved content providers, but will change to .... (drum roll) ... content providers. While this does not sound like much of a development, it does mean that their books are no longer going to be reviewed by ACCA examining teams as they are right now. I can't help thinking that the "Content Provider" label is going to suggest to students that the books remain "endorsed" or "official" to some extent, when this is simply not going to be true. And students will not realise, because I cannot imagine anyone will be trying too hard to make sure they realise. Not suggesting the content of their books etc will suddenly become unreliable, but advertising from accountants is meant to be clear, to avoid misunderstandings and customers being misled. I know ACCA now has its own Study Hub material for free, but given BPP and Kaplan materials are likely to be a different animal to the Study Hub, why not continue the examiner reviews? Or just remove the "approved" thing completely? Middle ground compromises are often the least good solution. Just saying. PQ Magazine #accastudents #acca #accaglobal #accaexams
