🌍 Exciting Announcement for ONS 2026! 🌍 We are thrilled to announce that Christian Bruch, President and CEO of Siemens Energy, will lead the committee for the ONS Strategic Conference 2026! As we navigate an evolving energy landscape shaped by geopolitical dynamics, the ONS Strategic Conference (former ONS Conference) remains a vital arena for the energy industry, political representatives, and society to come together. Bruch emphasizes: “Cooperation remains essential. Besides sustainability, affordability and availability in the energy industry, we require courage to discuss also difficult topics such as security and scalability. ONS is the right place for these discussions to take place.” Bruch believes Norway plays a crucial role in the energy transition. “Following the attack on Ukraine, Norway promptly increased its gas supply to Europe by 10% in 2022, showcasing Norway’s international connectivity and pragmatic, goal-oriented solutions,” he says. Join us as we pave the way for meaningful conversations at ONS 2026! #ONS2026 #Energy #Leadership #Sustainability #Cooperation

Great to be a part of Hydrogen Metropole Ruhr's European Backbone Talk in Brussels last Tuesday! Rotterdam places major importance on a European hydrogen infrastructure, and it's great to see that so many other regions share this perspective - North Rhine-Westphalia, Flanders, Catalonia, Hauts-de-France, the list goes on... It was very interesting to discuss this in our panel and in the workshops. A particular priority of the City of Rotterdam is working on a broad hydrogen ecosystem. This includes large scale import, local production and use in industry, but also technology development, trading platforms, business services and education. We need it all if we want to make this hydrogen moonshot happen. Europe shares this perspective, as evidenced by instruments like the Just Transition Fund and the Hydrogen Valley Platform - and we need to keep this approach going after the upcoming European elections. #EuropesHydrogenHub Wouter Demenint Klaas van Staalduine Anne S. Financing the Green Economy: The Hydrogen Cases of the Nordics The ambitions for the future role of hydrogen in a net zero scenario are high. On national and international level alike, strategies have been announced setting targets for electrolyzing capacity several 100 times higher than what is currently installed. In the Nordics as well as Europe, the private sector has been following up on these strategies, developing concrete project plans corresponding to - or even exceeding national and European goals. Only a small fraction of these projects have however made it to the final investment decision (FID). Even fewer are under construction or have already been commissioned. Making hydrogen projects bankable and achieving a #FID have proven critical hurdles for the European Hydrogen Economy. Key factors include securing partnerships with established stakeholders and demonstrating both technological feasibility and market demand. During the New Energy Coalition event #WindmeetsGas2024, visitors to our common #NordicsNL session got to hear 4 successful recent cases from the Nordics. The focus was on which key elements that are needed to drive the #hydrogen economy forward. Cases: Marielle Furnes Mannseth, Group Brand & Sustainability Officer, Norwegian Hydrogen Christoph Zinsser, Head of Project Finance, Stegra Herkko Plit, CEO, P2X Solutions Oy Simon Gerling, Head of Business Unit – Netherlands, European Energy Viktor Markelin, CFA Nordic Investment Bank Moderator: Nienke Homan - Thanks for an excellent session yet again 👏 The Ambassadors of the Nordics in the Netherlands received the special report "Current and potential future energy exchange relations between the Nordics, Baltics and the Netherlands", written by Catrinus Jepma, Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (University of Groningen) and Miralda van Schot, Port of Amsterdam. Ilkka-Pekka Similä - Embassy of Finland in the Netherlands Ulf Melgaard - Embassy of Denmark in the Netherlands Erling Rimestad - Royal Norwegian Embassy in The Hague Julia Puhony Johannes Oljelund - Embassy of Sweden in The Netherlands Couldn't join in?
