One All’s Post

Introducing the Adivasi Fellowship Program by One All   We are dedicated to providing youth leadership and community development through innovative and inclusive approaches. Our 2 year Adivasi Fellowship Program was created in response to the unique challenges faced by Adivasi communities in the Nilgiris district. Issues such as limited access to education, high levels of unemployment, substance abuse, and gender inequality have deeply affected these communities, especially their youth. This program is designed to address these challenges by empowering 20 Adivasi youth from 13 villages to become community leaders through mixed-gender sports, particularly Ultimate Frisbee. The Fellows are selected from the Betta Kurumba, Paniya, and Kattunayakan tribes, range in age from 18 to 30. Many have completed basic education and are engaged in daily wage labour, but lack the opportunities to further develop their potential. Through this Fellowship, they are given the training, mentorship, and support needed to drive meaningful change within their communities. Over the course of two years, Fellows participate in immersive residential camps that combine sports coaching with life skills development, covering areas such as: - Leadership and critical thinking - Conflict resolution and gender equity - Health, nutrition, and financial literacy - Community engagement and social justice Between camps, the Fellows return to their villages to apply their training by developing sports-for-development programs that engage local youth. By the end of the Fellowship, they will not only have become skilled community facilitators, but will also receive two years of employment, ensuring long-term sustainability of their efforts. The Adivasi Fellowship is a bold initiative aimed at breaking the cycle of marginalisation by equipping these young leaders with the tools to challenge societal norms and create lasting change. We are incredibly proud of the progress our Fellows have made, and we invite you to follow their journey as they transform their communities!
