At Northam, we believe in fostering safe and respectful environments for all. It is in this light that we're highlighting the importance of speaking up against gender-based violence (GBV) and being an active bystander. If it feels or seems uncomfortable, it is. We encourage everyone to trust their instincts and speak up when they witness potential harm. Your voice can make a difference in preventing violence and creating a culture of accountability. As part of our commitment to combating GBV, we've developed a No-GBV campaign with an informative website where you can find resources and information on our stance against GBV and how to report it. Let's stand together to ensure that our workplaces and communities are safe and inclusive for everyone. Gender-based violence is a pervasive crisis that transcends physical harm. It manifests emotionally, digitally, and physically, affecting not just individuals but the fabric of our communities. During this 16 Days of Activism, I had the honor of coordinating the Community Market, a space where we shed light on often-overlooked aspects of GBV. What stood out is the glaring gap in awareness and the urgent need to invest in education and advocacy. Many remain unaware of the ways GBV infiltrates digital spaces, from cyberbullying to online harassment, or how emotional abuse leaves scars as deep as physical violence. Without understanding, the cycle continues unchecked. The fight to end GBV requires all of us—governments, organizations, and individuals—to commit resources, time, and compassion. Together, let’s build a world where dignity, safety, and respect are not just ideals but lived realities for everyone. #EndGBV #16DaysOfActivism

How you can stop being a GBV enabler 💯 Ending GBV starts with acknowledging our own biases and committing to action: • Listen to and believe survivors • Speak out against violence and harmful stereotypes. • Educate yourself and others about GBV and its root causes. • Advocate for policies and practices that protect women and girls. Remember, enabling GBV doesn’t just harm individuals, it weakens families, communities, and society as a whole. Together, we can break the cycle and create a culture where violence has no place. #16daysofactivismagainstgenderbasedviolence #endgbvnow #noexcuse #noexcuseforviolenceagainstwomen

Today, I had the privilege of presenting two sessions at the South East VAWG Conference. My presentation, titled “Hunting Predators,” delved into my research on Street Harassment and described how TVP tackle it under the banner of Project Vigilant. The success of Project Vigilant underscores the importance of proactive, offender-focused strategies in combating Street Harassment and enhancing public safety. I am grateful for the opportunity to share insights from my research ,and contribute to the ongoing efforts to protect women and girls from violence and harassment. #VAWG #ProjectVigilant #PublicSafety #StreetHarassment #ProactivePolicing
