As part of the EFECT project with Education Above All Foundation’s Educate a Child programme, Street Child of Nigeria held a four-day training for Community Volunteer Teachers (CVTs) on the Accelerated Basic Education Programme (ABEP) curriculum in Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa states. The training equipped CVTs to deliver the government’s ABEP curriculum, designed to help out-of-school children catch up on missed education and reintegrate into formal schooling. This initiative supports EFECT's goal of providing quality primary education to 96,000 out-of-school children across Nigeria, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. It also empowers CVTs to create inclusive learning environments that address academic and mental health needs, fostering resilience and better outcomes for children in conflict-affected communities. #StreetChildofNigeria #EducationAboveAll Street Child

Brook Initiative joined the global community on 3rd December to celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This annual observance aims to promote inclusivity, accessibility, and equality for individuals with disabilities. Our team marked this special day organised by Street Child Nigeria, with a disability awareness workshop, featuring our legal officer's insightful discussion on the Disability Act. Through this celebration, we reaffirmed our commitment to creating a more inclusive and accessible environment for everyone. We believe that every individual, regardless of their abilities, deserves equal opportunities and respect. The International Day of Persons with Disabilities serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of promoting disability rights and inclusion. The meeting focused on reviewing safeguarding practices, addressing concerns, and enhancing strategies to protect marginalised children and adults. Partners exchanged experiences, shared knowledge, and discussed best practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improved safeguarding.
