Today, we’re launching Instagram Teen Accounts, designed with automatic protections put in place for teens, including default privacy settings, time limits, and restrictions on who can message and interact with teens' posts. We hope these changes give parents peace of mind about how their children use our apps and provide them with a clear, manageable way to keep tabs on their child’s smartphone use. We’re committed to this work and will continue building safeguards to keep teens safe. https://lnkd.in/gNWrpQWF
Mr. Nick, I need your assistance, I sent you an email some weeks ago, about an account from a person that put out threats but I don't want to put everything on here but please check your message. What I would like to see, is a more easier way to contact Meta, if you having a security issue, that shouldn't be looked over for months
Nick Clegg I’m glad to see some measures being taken; I imagine it will take some time to get adjustments right and people will always try to craft posts around the rules to slip through the cracks. I’d like to see inclusion of posts that help teens with topics such as mental health as well. Let’s infuse the good where we have their attention.
This is a great step forward in ensuring the safety and well-being of teens online! 👏 As a parent of a teen, knowing that these safeguards are in place brings peace of mind. Thank you for prioritizing the protection of teens and continuing to enhance the platform for the better! Looking forward to seeing even more features aimed at promoting healthy and secure smartphone use. #DigitalSafety #TeensOnline
Brilliant - as a parent of teens I'm so glad Meta are leading here
Yeah great nick but what are you doing to protect users who have lost their accounts to hackers ? Care to comment
More than a bit slow to react! Given the money that Meta makes it is really not good enough that you are not proactive and only take action when pressure comes from governments around the world. Meta needs to do far better in so many ways.
Great step forward.

2moThe fact that Meta does not have a proper way to resolve and support user issues means that governments around the world will need to enforce this. You can't encourage millions of users to link Facebook and Instagram and then, when issues arise—whether self-inflicted, caused by errors, or due to external factors like account takeovers—leave users with no real support. I’ve seen this firsthand, and despite my efforts, I still haven't found a solution or reached anyone at Meta who can address or evaluate the issue I've raised. The cost to a person who loses access to years of work, contacts, and networks without explanation is far greater than you might think. This isn’t a free service; it’s paid for in data that often exceeds the value of the service itself. Support, however, is left to scammers who jump on any post, offering to sell "solutions." Meta enables this by not providing real or functioning ways to resolve issues. As a result, Meta is responsible for any losses related to this. The EU and local governments need to step up and force Meta to implement a transparent and working support system. @Margrete Auken, as a fellow Dane, might want to take up this issue.
