This week Zuck announced “AI Studio” a new feature which allows Instagram creators to develop “AI-powered chatbot versions of themselves.” This is comes as no surprise for a couple of reasons: 1.) Zuck announced in an earrings call 8 months ago that “creator AIs” would be core to Meta’s growth strategy. This week’s announcement is making good on that vision. As I wrote about then: https://lnkd.in/e5_KcgxP? this is not just buzzy use of AI - it fuels longstanding truths about brand building, growth and consumer behavior: Talent want to scale; platforms want stickiness; brands want new conduits to consumers - who in turn want more access to their favorite creators. 2) With new tools, standards and collaborations AI clones are going more mainstream - with key unlocks such as TikTok enabling AI avatars for creators and advertisers. 3) AI clones are already in our feeds, and proving both a) useful and b) entertaining, especially when creative folk have their way with it. Case in point, Reid Hoffman’s Reid AI avatar by Hour One who is brilliantly brought to life by his creative team. This brings up an important point that Zuck acknowledged in his announcement: which is that the tool doesn’t guarantee anything on its own: the tools have to provide the scope, but it’s up to the creators and their own ingenuity to make it work. The magic will be as the two collide. #creatoreconomy #virtualhumaneconomy
