Advice for 2025 Apprentices: Quality over quantity! When it comes to applying for degree apprenticeships, it’s tempting to think that sending out as many applications as possible will increase your chances of success. But in reality, quality always beats quantity. Generic CVs and cover letters may seem efficient, but they often fail to capture what makes you the right fit for a particular role. Companies appreciate candidates who’ve taken the time to understand their culture and values. Rather than applying broadly, it’s more effective to invest time in thoroughly researching each company: 1. Learn about their values, mission, and culture. – Explore their website, read articles, and check out their employee advice pages to understand what drives them. 2. Network with current employees, especially apprentices. – Ask about their experiences to get a genuine feel for the role and the company. This can provide valuable insights that guide your application. 3. Tailor your CV and cover letter. – Align your skills and experiences directly with what the company needs. Personalizing each application shows that you’re truly invested in the opportunity, rather than just the position. Taking the time to craft detailed, customized applications can significantly boost your chances of success aswell as ensuring that you’re applying to companies that truly match your aspirations. It’s not about how many you apply to but how well you connect with each company. #DegreeApprentiships #Interviews #Apprentices2025 💕

“How can I get an apprenticeship or grad scheme if I don’t have any experience?” 😐 This is one of the most common questions I get—and the truth is: you don’t need loads of experience to stand out. Employers are looking for transferable skills, and you already have them! Whether it’s from school projects, part-time jobs, university work, or even sports, it’s about how you frame those experiences. How to Showcase Your Skills: ✅ Focus on the skill, not the setting: It doesn’t matter where you gained the skill—highlight what you learned and how it’s relevant. ✅ Use action words: Phrases like “led,” “managed,” or “achieved” make your contributions known! ✅ Link it to the role: Always tie your experiences back to the skills employers are asking for. Top Tips for Interviews and CVs: 💡 Be ready with examples: Think of times when you’ve shown teamwork, problem-solving, or communication skills. 📈 Show growth: Talk about how you’ve developed these skills and why they’ll help you succeed in the role. 💡 Stay confident: Everyone starts somewhere. Employers are looking for potential, not perfection! 🔑 The Bottom Line: Don’t worry about what you don’t have—focus on what you do have. You’ve already got the foundation; now it’s time to show how it makes you a great candidate. #Apprenticeships #GraduateSchemes #CareerAdvice #TransferableSkills #EarlyCareers #degreeapprenticeship #firstjob #graduatescheme #gradjob

As a current apprentice, I can completely understand and relate to the overwhelming and daunting feeling that comes with the applications and assessment centres coming up in the next few months. In my time applying for apprenticeships, I’ve faced multiple different rejections and had a variety of experiences with applications and assessment centres so I would like to tell you the most important things I have learned from this. My first piece of advice and also one of the most important is to do your research about the company and apprenticeship, and make sure that you showcase this in any interview or assessment centre! I know it may sound basic but you would be surprised at how many people go into interviews with little knowledge of the company, their core values, case studies and also the role that they’re applying for! Stand out from the crowd and showcase all of your research, show how passionate you are about the company and what they do! This research gives you a chance to understand the company’s culture and values - allowing you to assess whether this is the right place for you. Overall, you need to utilise your knowledge and research, link it to your own experiences and build a strong case as to why you would be a good fit at the company. And in any interviews, where relevant, make sure to link your answers to your knowledge, experience and why you would be a great fit for the role. Secondly, be yourself - be confident and show your personality! Although these situations are daunting, be confident in yourself and your abilities, show the recruiters the best version of you and everything that you have to offer to the company! Also, make sure to be true to yourself! As much as this is a good opportunity for the company to consider whether you are a good fit for them, it’s also a great opportunity to consider whether the company is a good fit for you and your ambitions! And although you must stay professional throughout, let your personality shine through, we’re all human at the end of the day and it’s a great chance to show your interpersonal skills! One of my biggest pieces of advice is to not dwell too much on any failures or mistakes, take them as an opportunity to learn and grow. I’ve faced many rejections in the years and although it’s difficult, you need to take it as an opportunity to reflect and learn so that you can perform better next time. A massive thing that I have learned is that if you are in an interview scenario and feel like you’ve messed up a question, please don’t let it put a dampener on the rest of your interview/assessment centre - use this as motivation to make the rest of your interview even better! We’re all humans and make mistakes so it’s a great chance to also show how you recover from any mistakes made. But at the end of the day, remember that everything happens for a reason and when one door closes - it opens up another one for you. I wish you all the best of luck, my LinkedIn DMs are open to anyone.

What would I do if I was an aspiring apprentice today? Today's apprenticeship market has changed since I first started mine. However, hindsight is a wonderful thing 🙃 where I can now identify where I went wrong - alongside what I have learnt in the industry so far, here are my 3 tips for aspiring apprentices. 📈 1. Research - understand what skills/traits are required from the role you want. - use this to fill in skill gaps may have, and use the traits as a way to map out your future growth. 2. Ask for help - reach out to industry professionals, recruiters, and early careers advisors! Ask them for tips regarding interviews and CV writing. - these people know what's required, and they can help steer you in the right direction and a friend on the inside is always a bonus. 😏 3. Network, network, network - try to get to know as many people in the industry as possible, they can either be current graduates, apprentices, or even professionals. - start posting on your LinkedIn about your current learning and skills. ❗ ❗ If you don't know where to start, drop a comment, and let's try to get as many professionals, graduates, current apprentices and aspiring apprentices to connect 🚀 #tips #apprenticeships #graduates #networking #linkedin
