Many companies still send impersonal rejection emails, leaving candidates frustrated without useful feedback. By using tools to provide personalised insights, highlighting skills gaps, and sharing resources or future opportunities, employers can improve the candidate experience and strengthen their brand, even when delivering disappointing news. It’s time for better communication. https://lnkd.in/ejzhbwj4 #feedback #entrylevel #recruitment

Who said young people lack drive and resilience? Today I’m celebrating 2 entrepreneurial and driven sixth form students who are incredibly impressive: Cenk Mustafa and Aminata Bamba Connect with them ! They have set up student communities called Apprentadream and FFA-FutureFinanceApprentice with each community sharing: ✅ role announcements ✅ job descriptions / hints and tips ✅ the community celebrates and empowers each other These groups are well organised and managed. They have appointed ambassadors and leaders and their operations are slick. These communities are also upskilling to quickly become the exact high calibre profile companies seek. Well done ! I’m impressed. You have filled a gap in schools where quality career guidance is missing and you are making an impact on positive apprenticeship outcomes. You all deserve to do very well and I’m confident that this group will snap up of the very best of #apprenticeship opportunities 👏

💯! Another cracking post from George Stern thank you 🙏 Here are my takeaways for my student network : Too often, when looking for a job, young people shrink back, focussing only on their weaknesses. 💡 Imagine if every president or prime minister focused on their weaknesses instead of their "spin” 🤭. Your challenge is to find your “spin” - your unique strengths 💪 ❌ The linear career path is DEAD. ☠️ ✅ Explore different paths. If you left university, that's not a failure—it's a sign that you're a risk-taker who believes in doing better. ✅ Put yourself first over any company. Develop a thick skin, and don’t let rejections get you down. Every experience is a chance to learn, reflect, and grow… ✅ Challenge yourself! Don’t bury your head in despair. Keep moving forward. ✅ Identify your strengths and forensically explore your areas of interest. How? By building connections, BEING OPEN MINDED, creating networks, and diving deep into whatever you are learning about. ✅ Discover your career path on your own terms. BUT STAY open-minded AND always fully engaged. ✅ When you surround yourself with the right networks / groups / people, good things will follow. Here’s an example circle to start with ⭕: [https://tr.ee/ZENn2I76GO]… and there are plenty more out there.

The linear career path is dead. Which is a good thing, because it's toxic: ↳Makes students stress about the perfect internship ↳Leads to unhealthy loyalty to a single company ↳Causes layoffs to be even more devastating ↳Discourages risk taking ↳Limits personal growth ↳Punishes breaks (like having kids) Instead, embrace the path that's right for you: ↳Try different things to find what you love ↳Prioritize yourself over a company ↳See setbacks as learning opportunities ↳Take risks when you can afford to ↳Prioritize roles that challenge you and help you grow ↳Choose flexibility when you need it For some, a linear path might be the right one. But too many people are led to believe it's the only way, And they suffer as a result. Don't let anyone else tell you how your career should look - Go discover it for yourself. • This Deloitte advertisement struck a chord with me, particularly its powerful message for graduates and apprentices. Throughout school, and to a lesser extent in university, the focus is often on individual achievement. True leadership, however, is rarely emphasised in the curriculum. Yet, when it comes to standing out to quality employers, it’s not just personal success that matters. What truly sets you apart is your ability to share your skills in a way that empowers others. It’s about demonstrating the satisfaction you derive from fostering growth in those around you and celebrating their unique accomplishments. When preparing for interviews, highlight examples that showcase how you’ve done this—how you’ve inspired others to succeed and taken pride in their achievements. #jobtips #graduate #apprenticeship #deloitte #careercoach #nailyourinterview

A.I. for job hunting and Prep…. I’m concerned with the scaremongering I see all over social media about the dangers of students using Chat GPT. Especially criticism around job seekers using “Chat GPT’d” cvs, cover letters and interview answers. Imagine the same scepticism around using Google? A.I. is transforming and disrupting the world. A.I. business BOTs are now “off the shelf” and small business early-adopters are saving valuable time and money using them. Economists predict A.I. will create more job opportunities than it destroys. A.I. is here and it’s smart to blend it with human effort by adopting a hybrid A.I./human approach. A.I. can handle the tedious work of researching and preparing job applications, allowing you to focus on your personal touch. There has never been a bigger breakthrough in our lifetime, the biggest rival being the internet. Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google said “A.I. Is more profound than fire, electricity and the internet”. While I’m not sure how A.I. would work without the internet or electricity, he has a point. It’s crazy that A.I. is still in its infancy, but it’s already disrupting everything and this includes the job market. So you shouldn’t ask yourself whether or not to use Chat GPT ! Everyone will use it - just like the internet. A.I. is your new Google. Think back to the early days of the internet. Some of us remember the annoying sounds of AOL dial-up and the randomness of search results before Google. Despite initial skepticism, the internet revolutionised our lives. I recall my husband’s first laptop, connected wirelessly to his office—something I doubted until I tested it by printing a dodgy picture…….The lesson? Innovations that seem dubious at first often become indispensable. To quote Mark Cuban “wherever there is change, wherever there is uncertainty, there is opportunity”. Make sure you embrace the opportunity and value of Chat GPT, save yourselves time, headache and get ahead by using it. Focus on HOW you use it. Ask for public document links to verify your research and then check them out. Re hash your A.I. results, by asking Chat GPT to “un-Chat GPT” them for you, then add your personal human touches. If questioned during an interview whether you used A.I. for your interview prep? Maybe answer with some of these takeaways ? #ai #interviewprep #careercoach #markcuban #SundarPichai #jobtips #graduate #apprentice
